Exfoliation and removal of dead skin cells is not only important for our face but also our lips. Sugar is rich in glycolic acid and antioxidants that helps in the conditioning of lips and gets rid of any toxins. It also prevents lips from sun damage and smoothens it.

How to Apply: Take a teaspoon of honey and white or cane sugar and mix it well together to make a paste. Apply the paste on your lips and very gently exfoliate it for 3-5 minutes and wash it off with cold water. Do this twice every week for supple lips.

Often our lips lose their natural colour due to extreme dehydration internally and externally. For internal hydration you can drink ample amounts of water and consume antioxidant-rich foods like berries and tomatoes. For external hydration apply this cucumber and mint leaves pack. Both the foods will help in removing dead skin cells.

How to Apply: Grind half a cucumber and 10 mint leaves together and apply on your lips. Take a soft toothbrush and scrub your lips with the pack. This will give you pink lips naturally.

How to Apply: Take a scoop of aloe vera gel and a teaspoon of honey and blend it together. You can either store it in a balm container and store it in the fridge and apply it and leave it overnight, or you can pour the concoction in ice scoop moulds and take it off and run it on your lips for conditioning.

You might think this one to be weird but hydration starts internally and this is the first part of our body that is created after conception. You will be surprised by the results of the application of ghee on your navel as it works internally to repair your skin health.

How to Apply: Just heat a spoon of ghee and apply it on your belly button before you go to sleep at night and your navel will pass on the necessary nourishment to the parts of your body that needs nourishment, i.e. your lips.

We often fail to understand the importance of sunscreen and apply it only on our face. But our lips need protection from the harmful UV rays too. So do your research and choose a lip balm that has the right SPF and you are good to go on protecting those pink lips.

Our lips may be just a part of our face but it needs all the TLC it can get. Try out these remedies at home for the natural and beautiful lips.
