The sparsely inhabited Spiti territory, situated 202 km northeast of Manali, separates the Indian mainland from the Tibet autonomous zone. From verdant landscapes stretching off into the distance to ancient monasteries that seem like something out of the picture, this destination has it all for peace-loving vacationers.

Explore the postcard-perfect towns, squeeze through the tight mountain tunnels, and feel the cold wind on your skin as you go around. Your spirit will be well-nourished on a Lahaul-Spiti excursion as you immerse yourself in nature at an elevation of about 5,000 metres.

Due to the abundance of attractions in the region, we advise staying in Kalpa for a minimum of two nights.

What should I look forward to? While in Kalpa, take in the sights of the Kinnaur region. Visit the little town of Roghi, drive to the famous Suicide Point, and go for a short walk to take in the breathtaking vistas and mountain views. This is a must-add to your Spiti Valley itinerary!

You are scheduled to travel to Kaza today! Although this journey is short, it is jam-packed with opportunities for sightseeing, so get up and at 'em early. Kaza, with its rocky mountain slopes and lively market, is an ideal weekend destination from Manali, Shimla, Chopta, and Kanatal. Kaza is home to a world-class facility and a plethora of attractions.

What should I look forward to? Camping, trekking, yak safaris, the world's tallest petrol station, Cafe Sol, the Kibber-Chickham ropeway, Kibber Wildlife Sanctuary, and a breathtaking panorama of the picturesque hamlet are all on the Spiti Valley Itinerary!

If you are interested in exploring the local culture, we recommend visiting the Komic hamlet, home to the Ki monasteries, which is one of the highest villages in Asia and, interestingly enough, the only one in the town to have a voting station.

Kaza offers a wide variety of experiences and locations perfect for a group trip! Everyone is left wanting more when Kaza takes them on a jeep safari to monasteries, has a romantic stargazing session beneath the enormous sky, and goes on an adventure to snow-clad summits. You also may peruse local handicrafts and woollen goods at cooperative society-run stores and state government handloom centres.

The visit to the mountain settlements of Langza, Hikkim, and Komic is linked to the fourth day of the journey. Langza is well-known for its enormous Buddha statue and fossil-rich rock formations. Komic is among the highest motorable communities in the world, while Hikkim Village is home to the world's highest post office. This attraction is an unmissable part of the Spiti itinerary!

What should I look forward to? There are many cool places to see in Hikkim, including the second-highest village in Asia, fossils near Langza village, the world's highest post office in Komic village, the hamlet Demul, which has just one phone, and photogenic spots near Komic monastery.

This Spiti Valley itinerary also includes the Komic monastery, a hamlet tour, and Langza's enormous golden Buddha statue set against a backdrop of snow-capped mountains. You may also stroll around the picturesque Komic hamlet, pen a note to loved ones back home, and send it through the world's highest post office.

The picturesque town of Tabo is on the banks of the Spiti River and is known for its welcoming inhabitants and unassuming roadways. Your Spiti Valley itinerary would be truly unforgettable if you could visit Tabo, which is home to historic sites and religious artefacts.

What should I look forward to? The Tabo Caves, which are part of the monastery complex and offer excellent photo opportunities; the Dhankar Monastery, which is 8 kilometres off the main road and should only be visited with a prearranged taxi or a personal vehicle; and the Giu village mummy, which is 7 kilometres off the main road and is located 1 km before Sumdo village.

If you are interested in exploring the spiritual side of Tabo here’s what you should not miss- Prayers at Tabo Gompa; a museum showcasing artefacts and photographs; a library stocked with Buddhist literature and a prayer session at Tabo Monastery. Dhankar and the Tabo meditation caves have a water-driven prayer wheel.

There is a lot to see and do in Tabo village and the surrounding areas, as well as the beautiful Tabo caverns. Having in-depth conversations with natives is most possible during a stay at a homestay. You should not miss out on their hospitality! The Dhankar lake, the meeting point of the Spiti and Pin rivers at the Dhankar gompa, and the presence of rock art, wall paintings, and mud sculptures are all noteworthy features.
