Your wedding day is a huge deal. And while good makeup and hairstyle are essential to add to your bridal charm, it’s that natural bridal glow that makes all the difference. If you feel your skin and hair issues are coming in the way of that ethereal radiance, then a dermatologist needs to be on your speed dial. After all, they can tailor your bridal beauty requirement in a jiffy—marrying science with aesthetics.

That said, looking radiant and picture-perfect on your special day takes work and planning. Whether it’s scar reduction and blemish-free skin you’re after, want to treat hair loss, or simply boost collagen for that coveted wedding-day glow—there are plenty of treatments available to cater to your every need.

From simple facials to quick micro-needling treatments, we asked celebrity dermatologist and founder of Isaac Luxe - Dr Geetika Mittal Gupta to share the ins and outs of the many beauty treatments that a bride-to-be can opt for.

It's no secret that cardio and strength training can tone your body—but what about your face? As we age, collagen—the structural support of our skin—breaks down and diminishes. This collagen loss also contributes mightily towards skin volume loss and wrinkle formation. That’s where this revolutionary facial comes in.

“Tone and lift facial targets collagen on the matrix level and helps in restructuring your skin. The facial treats skin pores, pigmentation, and loss of elasticity. Moreover, it additionally also reduces sun damage, acne scars, visible signs of ageing, improves sagging, wrinkles, lines, and accelerates skin healing,” says Dr Geetika.

A tone and lift facial procedure starts with exfoliation which helps in reducing uneven skin texture, age spots, scars and makes the skin appear more even. After exfoliation, collagen is induced using a laser beam directed at the skin that destroys the outer layer of skin (epidermis) and heats the underlying skin (dermis). This in turn stimulates collagen production over time, resulting in better skin tone and texture. The final step involves 3D skin matrix stimulation using the highest concentrations of hyaluronic acid, which has a prolonged stimulating activity on the dermal cells. “It stimulates the skin cell receptors to counteract your skin’s laxity and improve and restore firmness. It not only boosts and hydrates the skin but also remodels ageing and sagging tissue. This treatment gives guaranteed results in a single session,” she explains.

For most of us, general skin concerns revolve around sun damage, redness, dark spots, and pigmentation. Wouldn’t be wonderful if we could do away with all these skin issues in one go? Dr Geetika says it’s possible with photo facials.

“A photo facial, also known as photorejuvenation, uses a light-based technology that penetrates the skin and works to rejuvenate it and minimise damage. During the procedure, the technician emits a blast of light at intense pulses that absorb deeper into the skin like an LED treatment,” she explains. Not only do photo facials work on acne, reduce sebaceous gland activity, dark pigments and spots—they also can target the redness that comes with rosacea, thus treating a wide range of skin issues.

However, the number of photo facials required to achieve all that depends on your skin goals and condition. “According to a 10-year study by Stanford University, IPL photo facials not only repair signs of ageing but help prevent future ageing concerns. Compared to some other treatments that help combat ageing skin, this is considerably less invasive and comes with very minimal risks. A super-targeted beam of light helps get rid of whatever skin concern you are experiencing without any invasion,” she assures.

A celeb-approved super facial treatment that counts even Kim Kardashian as a patron, this treatment involves luxury 24-carat gold—and is considered as a one-stop solution you need, in order to achieve your skincare goals.

Dr Geetika reveals that it is one of the most popular facials for glowing skin, explaining: “A 24-carat patented gold-plated microinjection system, Aquagold painlessly provides custom solutions to the skin with the help of an ideal 600-micron depth needle to reach the dermis.”

The needles in this treatment are typically 24-karat gold and are used to inject a skin-plumping serum cocktail of Botox, filler, and skin-boosting vitamins. “This long-lasting treatment is a super quick one and hands down one of the best facials to achieve an instant glowing skin. The needles in this treatment are used to inject ingredients tailored to your specific skin needs such as vitamins, enzymes, hormones, plant extracts, micro quantities of botox, and hyaluronic acid fillers,” she adds.

It's like a tapas menu tailored for ‘your’ face only—a little bit of this and that for anyone who dreams of having fresh-looking, radiant skin.

No bridal treatment is ever complete without something to cater to the hair. After all, good-looking mane can elevate your bridal look. If hair loss is something you want to combat, then hair PRP—which works on the same principles as the famous vampire facial, that essentially uses your own blood to help facilitate a glowing, youthful complexion—is what you need.

Dr Mittal explains how PRP or platelet-rich plasma works: “PRP therapy is a three-step process. It is a non-surgical and minimally-invasive procedure. The first step involves drawing your blood, usually from your arm. Then, the blood is stored in a centrifuge machine that separates fluids of different densities. Once the blood has separated into three layers, which usually takes about 10 minutes, the platelet-rich plasma is taken in a syringe and then injected into needed areas of the scalp,”  she explains.

Growth factors present in the blood play a major role in stimulating the activity of the hair follicles and promoting new hair growth. According to our expert, the use of PRP is “effective for hair loss and maintaining hair health using platelet-rich plasma present in the blood. The effectiveness of this treatment depends on the way you follow the post-treatment instructions such as refraining from the consumption of alcohol and smoking.”

It's no wonder that the treatment has been gaining popularity around the world—and considering the stress-related hair loss caused by the pandemic, you might just start hearing about PRP therapy even more frequently.

Today, we simply can't imagine living in a world where K-beauty doesn't exist. Every Korean beauty trend gives prime importance to clear and radiant skin, which is exactly what GG Glow offers. “I exclusively introduced this K-beauty treatment in India at ISAAC Luxe. It has been the go-to treatment for all my brides-to-be to achieve glowing, radiant skin,” Dr Geetika reveals.

This glow treatment is a combination of skincare and functional makeup. It gives you a ‘no-makeup’ makeup look and can be customised for every skin type and colour. With multiple colour shades to choose from, you can find a natural finish to complement your skin type. It promotes skin rejuvenation and collagen production. But the glow in this treatment is what sets it apart with results lasting for up to 4-6 months. “You need one session every week for 30 to 40 days. Post that, you can start the maintenance period,” she adds.

This unique treatment includes an infusion of vitamins and natural pigments. A highly effective tinted pigment is applied using a nanoneedle. The serum infuses nutrients while adding the desired colour tone, along with treating your skin to a combination of vitamins to treat pigmentation, acne scars, uneven skin tone, wrinkles, large pores, and even freckles.

Who doesn’t want to reduce visible signs of ageing? As we age, the skin naturally loses its elasticity and firmness—resulting in a dull, sagging, and flabby visage. Is a surgical procedure the only way out? No siree! For those looking for non-surgical solutions, a laser facial treatment called 4D Lift can target your skin imperfections to bring back that lost glow.

A 4D facial isn’t like your regular facial. It is designed for deep lifting, tightening of the face, and face contouring without surgery. “The 4D Lift targets pigmented areas through laser treatments reducing spots and blemishes while stimulating the formation of elastin and collagen. It is a non-surgical and non-invasive laser facial skin rejuvenation, which includes a four-dimensional approach. The wavelengths of the laser focus on the imperfections present on the upper layers of the skin and penetrate the deeper layers,” shares Dr Geetika.

The treatment is helpful in stimulating the production of collagen in the skin to make you look rejuvenated from within, while the wavelengths from the laser treatment tackle skin ageing and the problems that kick in because of it. To keep up the formation of new collagen, it restores the connective tissue called fibroblast within the skin to keep the production of collagen and all other fibres going. In short, your facial tissues will be revived from inside and out.

The best thing about this treatment is that it gives a natural look, gently resurfacing the skin on your face and neck. “The treatment reduces the damage done to your skin by the sun and heals the skin, thus reducing pigmentation,” she adds.

Note: Please consult your dermatologist before going in for any beauty treatments.
