Weddings and Bollywood go hand in hand. From setting us up with expectations for a filmy flirty sangeet to serving as decor inspiration, films do it all. Every year, depending on the celebrity bride of the season, markets get flooded with new styles of bridal lehengas, most of which are known by the actress’ name, and not by the actual design it is.

The playlists get updated, and so do the instructions for how the mandap should look. All of this gets even more fascinating when it is real-life Bollywood couples get married. From the media frenzy around each of the functions to the first looks, we all love a memorable Bollywood wedding.

Keeping that in mind, here are the 10 most memorable Bollywood weddings of recent times

The Chopra Chadha wedding is the most recent, and not only was it already goals in every way possible, but Parineeti Chopra also recorded a song to be used in her bridal entry. Talk about going the extra mile.

Held in the scenic Udaipur, the wedding was attended by a lot of biggies from both Bollywood and Politics, given Raghav Chadha is an MP from Aam Aadmi Party. Dressed in Manish Malhotra matching outfits, the couple looked stunning, and so in love.

Another Bollywood couple that kept it under the wraps till they actually got married, Kiara Advani and Sidharth Malhotra’s love story goes all the way back to the movie Shershah. The two met on set, and the rest, as they say, is history.

In the list of recent Bollywood weddings, this one stands out with how beautifully it was shot, and with Kiara Advani altering the super hit Ranjha song from their movie together, the couple surely melted everyone’s hearts. Joining the long list of Bollywood-Cricket couples, Athiya Shetty and KL Rahul got married in an intimate ceremony, and to say that Athiya Shetty’s wedding was fashion goals would be an understatement.

This Bollywood wedding made us all wait. Having gotten postponed due to Covid, Richa Chadha’s wedding legally took place in 2020 but the couple waited till 2022 to celebrate with their loved ones. The reception was a star-studded event in Lucknow and dressed in Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla, the couple looked nothing short of poetic.

The couple is also set to release RiAliTY, a documentary made on their wedding festivities, and how Covid protocols impacted it, alongside candid behind-the-scenes of the events.

The couple who had been dating for more than a decade, tied the knot in Chandigarh and had us all swooning over how lovely it was. While other Bollywood weddings are poetic, Rajkummar Rao’s wedding stood out with just how comfortable and candid the couple was.

The couple had two wedding ceremonies, celebrating the culture and heritage of both sides. Another bride who went for a saree instead of a lehenga, Patralekha wore a red Sabyasachi, the highlight of which was a handwritten note by the designer himself, embroidered throughout her veil. Bollywood royalty, as Karan Johar, just addressed them, on the latest season of Koffee With Karan, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh got married at Lake Como with very few of their friends and family in attendance. An intimate wedding, that saw the couple wearing Sabyasachi, was captured beautifully and shared recently, making us swoon over the couple big time. Absolute relationship goals!

Priyanka Chopra Jonas made history with her wedding, and quite literally. The only bride in the history of Ralph Lauran to get a bridal designer from the designer, Priyanka also made headlines for just how long the train of her veil was.

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas’ marriage held in Udaipur was a star-studded multi-day affair and honoured both their religious heritage. Priyanka was walked down the aisle by her mother, wearing a stunning traditional white gown. As for the Hindu ceremony, the couple went with Sabyasachi, and the all-red lehenga Priyanka wore was just gorgeous.

The OG trendsetters in this generation of actors, Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli got married in Italy a few years ago. One of the first brides to go beyond the traditional red lehengas, Anushka wore a baby pink Sabyasachi ensemble, and Virat complimented her quite well in an ivory sherwani from the designer.
