Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal’s much-awaited wedding festivities have finally begun. The couple have been in a relationship for almost a decade and announced their wedding in 2020 but had to postpone the wedding due to the pandemic. The duo will finally tie the knot on October 4 in an intimate ceremony in Mumbai followed by a grand reception.
And the first picture of their wedding festivities is out. Richa and Ali recently took to Instagram and shared the first glimpse of their wedding festivities, with a caption that read, “#RiAli Mohabbat Mubarak,” and they look absolutely dreamy. While the bride-to-be looks stunning in an embroidered pastel pink lehenga by designer Rahul Mishra, the groom looks dapper in a white angrakha by designer Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla.
The mehendi
Yesterday, the actress gave a sneak peek of her mehendi which featured their wedding logo ‘A & R’ in the middle and a quirky cat face on the side. The actress even got herself an evil-eye artwork done on her nails. According to reports, five mehendi artists from Rajasthan were flown down for the ceremony. For other pre-wedding functions Richa will be seen in custom-made outfits by Kresha Bajaj, and Ali Fazal will wear suave outfits by Shantanu Nikhil.
The venue
For the unversed, their pre-wedding festivities, which include cocktails, mehendi and sangeet, are happening in Delhi at Richa’s friend’s bungalow. However, for their wedding and reception, the Fukrey stars didn’t opt for a five-star, but the iconic The Great Eastern Home, a 176-year-old mill in South Mumbai, which is a contemporary furniture store that also serves as an event space.
The decor
The wedding decor is inspired by all things green and eco-friendly. A lot of florals, jute, glass and wood have been used as decor elements.
Wedding guest list
Richa and Ali’s wedding guest list includes the who’s who of Hollywood. Renowned actors Ali have worked with - Gerard Butler and Judi Dench - have been invited to the wedding. Apart from them, production people from Hollywood and the cast of the spy thriller series 'Tehran' are also on the guest list.

Richa-Ali’s message for fans
On Thursday, the couple shared a voice note for fans, which started with Richa saying, “We have a message for you. Two years ago, we formalised our union and just then the pandemic hit us all, pressing a pause button on our celebrations and life.” To this Ali added, “Like the rest of the nation, we two were struck by personal tragedies one after another. Now as we all enjoy this window of respite we are finally celebrating with our families and friends, and we are so very touched for all the love and blessings that are coming our way. We offer you nothing but our love. Thank you.”
