As the last day of the 10-day harvest festival, Onam, approaches, mouths have already begun watering in anticipation of the grand Malayali feast – the Onam sadhya aka Onasadya. It’s an all-vegetarian festive spread comprising 25 or more Kerala cuisine dishes served on a banana leaf. The Onam sadhya includes savoury banana chips, jaggery coated banana chips, matta rice, a variety of gravies made using local vegetables, stir-fried vegetables, sambar, rasam, buttermilk, pickles, pappadam and payasam. Once served, this lavish spread is a treat for all the five senses.

Here, we’ve put together a list of restaurants and home chefs that are offering Onam sadhya in Delhi.

This award-winning restaurant chain has one of the largest Onam spreads in Delhi this year, which includes 30 dishes made using family recipes. Sambharam, chakka chips, erissery (a dry coconut-based curry), thoran (vegetable stir fry), lentil curry, kootu curry (black chana curry), two types of payasam and a variety of other curries and chutneys accompanied by pappadam and rice is what constitutes Savya Rasa’s Onam sadhya aka Onasadhya. The feast is a sit-down buffet at the restaurant and guests have to pre-book a slot for the same. You can choose between their two lunch slots – 12 pm to 1:30 pm and 2 pm to 3:30 pm.

One of the most heart-warming things about this Onam sadhya is that the restaurant will be donating a meal to the needy for every sadhya purchased from them.
