With the monsoon in full swing, restaurants, quick-service restaurants, and delivery kitchens across Mumbai are whipping up special menus as an ode to the season. And it’s only natural because the rainy season brings with a bounty of seasonal vegetables, and fruits; and a rich array of seasonal delicacies that feel like nothing short of a warm hug amid the pitter-patter.

Fort-based Japanese restaurant Wakai has introduced a special ramen menu to celebrate the rains, Hakkasan pays an ode to the season with a Hakka lunch menu with dishes made using seasonal ingredients like water chestnut and sweet corn; while Yogisattva and Commis Station have collaborated to present a limited-edition vegan, gluten-free and refine sugar-free monsoon spread. Hakkasan, a Chinese fine-dining restaurant, is hosting a five-course Hakka monsoon menu for lunch from Monday to Friday. It features signature Cantonese delicacies comprising sweet corn soup, spicy chicken dumplings, chicken stir fry with Szechuan peppercorns, sugar snap and water chestnut stir fry with vegetable fried rice or Hakka hand-pulled noodles. This multi-course menu is paired with a glass of prosecco bellini.

Picture this: a bowl full of umami-rich broth, fresh noodles swimming in it, and vegetables, egg, and meat on top. Wakai has an exciting menu of ramen bowls for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians. It consists of four types of ramen – shoyu, miso, tantanmen, and kimchi.

Chef Raveena Taurani of Yogisattva and chef Divesh Aswani of Commis Station have come together to present a limited-edition vegan, gluten-free, and refined sugar-free monsoon menu. Available for dine-in at the Yogisattva Cafe, the menu puts the spotlight on local, seasonal ingredients. Quinoa and corn flakes with fermented green chill cashew cream, Vietnamese crepe black rice Banh xeo in chilli ponzu sauce, dukkah crumb with house-made organic barbeque sauce, smoked tofu miso ramen, and teriyaki eggplant are a few of the offerings on the menu.

And to share that beautiful flavour with its customers, the pizza spot has introduced three new types of pizza on its menu.
