How to get to Cuba?
Widely reachable, Cuba has plenty of international airports and also operates a few waterways. For Indian nationals, a prior visa is required which one can get from the Cuban embassy in New Delhi. The applicants must have 6 more months’ validity on their passport, and they can be granted a 90-day tourist visa.
Things to remember in Cuba

Cuba is well visited by tourist from across the world but in all objectivity, it can still be confusing given that regime can and does make changes every now and then. Here are some things you must keep in mind:
- Cuba has a dual currency system, which can be quite confusing for locals themselves. As a tourist, you’ll mostly use the Cuban Convertible Peso. Carry some, because credit cards don’t work everywhere, and in case you are carrying Euros, there are private institutions that’ll prefer the latter for their exchange rates.
- You’ll be required to have a visitor locator form with you at all times. It is compulsory to enter Cuba, but can only be procured a week prior. Plan accordingly.
- Carry your medicines. Cuba is a small country with limited resources, and one of the things that can be quite hard to find are meds, even very common ones like Ibuprofen. Carry your prescription meds, and then the tentative ones too.
