The Cannes fever is on! And so are the much-awaited fashion moments from the iconic red carpet. It’s that time of the year again when our Bollywood divas channel their uber glam avatar in jaw-dropping outfits at the French Riviera. This year at the 75th annual Cannes Film Festival, along with the veterans, we will see an array of Indian celebrities like Pooja Hegde, Tamannaah Bhatia, Urvashi Rautela, and others making their debut on the Cannes 2022 red carpet. From power dressing in pant suits to exuding fairy tale vibes in dramatic tiered gowns, the celebs are going all out with their style statements.
The Cannes 2022 has just begun, and we already have our favourite picks from the red carpet. As day 1 of the fashion gala concludes, let’s take a look at some of the best and not-so-best looks.
1. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is a Cannes veteran. Over the past years, the actress has managed to swoon us with her striking red carpet moments. This year, the actress sported a monochrome look in a pink Valentino pant suit with Garavanni stilettos. Did she get the power dressing look right? Styled by celebrity stylist Aastha Sharma, this particular look is an absolute nay for us. The anti-fit pant suit and that hot pink isn't a match at all! Together they are a perfect recipe for Cannes faux pas.
While we were hoping Rai would do better on the red carpet, but in vain. She turned up in a voluminous Dolce and Gabbana black ball gown with 3D flowers attached to it. She kept her hair and makeup minimal, but was her outfit look on point? Nope.
2. Pooja Hegde
Hegde made a striking debut at Cannes and we can’t take our eyes off her. For her day look, Hegde opted for a beautiful long white floral cape outfit by Honayda and paired it with electric blue heels.
For her red carpet look, Hegde made a fairytale entrance dressed in an ivory-hued Maison Geyanna Youness gown covered with beautiful feather detailing. Styled by celebrity stylist Akshay Tyagi, her red carpet attire was on point. With her hair tied into a sleek ponytail, she rounded off her look with minimal jewellery and nude makeup. We are all hearts for this look.
3. Urvashi Rautela
The Former Miss India Universe made her dream debut at the 75th annual Cannes Film Festival in a gorgeous white gown by Tony Ward Couture. Walking down the red carpet in a one-shoulder tiered gown with a dramatic sleeve, Rautela looked like a dream. A neatly done braided bun, bold red lips, and striking earrings completed her look.
4. Hina Khan
The year 2022 marks Khan’s second appearance at Cannes. This year too, she is leaving no stone unturned and is all prepped to take the red carpet by storm. The actress shared a sun-kissed picture from the French Riviera, dressed in an off-shoulder flowy red gown by her favourite designer, Rami Al Ali. Needless to mention, she looked breathtakingly beautiful and we can’t wait for her red carpet moment.
5. Tamannaah Bhatia
Another popular Indian actress making her debut at the 75th annual Cannes Film Festival is the gorgeous Tamannaah Bhatia. Dressed in a body-hugging black and white ball gown designed by Gauri and Nainika, she was an absolute vision. The outfit had a beautiful flare at the hemline which made it more distinct and swoon-worthy.
