Ingredients For Dabeli Tukda Recipe

  • For Dabeli Masala

    • 1 tsp fennel seeds

    • 2 tbsp coriander seeds

    • 1 tsp cumin seeds

    • 1 tsp black pepper

    • 1 tsp cloves

    • 1 bay leaf

    • 1 1/2 tbsp freshly grated coconut

    • 1/4 cinnamon stick

    • 1 dried red chilli

    • 1 black cardamom

    • 1 tbsp oil

    • 1 tsp red chilli powder

    • 1 tsp black salt

    • 1 tbsp sugar

    • 1 tsp oil

  • For Dabeli Tukda

    • 2-3 tbsp butter

    • 2-3 boiled roughly chopped potatoes

    • pinch of red chilli powder

    • 2 roughly chopped pavs

    • 2-3 tbsp butter

  • For Garnish

    • chopped onions

    • masala peanuts

    • chopped coriander leaves

    • pomegranate seeds

    • nylon sev

    • tamarind chutney

    • freshly grated coconut

    • grated beetroot

    • grated cheese

How to make Dabeli Tukda Recipe?

  1. In a pan, roast fennel seed, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, black pepper, cloves and bay leaf and keep aside.
  2. In the same pan, roast grated coconut, cinnamon, dried red chilli and black cardamom.
  3. Grind together all the spices with little bit of oil in a mortar and pestle to make Dabeli masala.
  4. Add red chilli powder, black salt, sugar and oil to the dabeli masala and mix well.

  6. In the same pan, add pav pieces and put butter on them and cook till the pav pieces become crisp.
  7. Transfer the pav pieces to a plate, put the potato filling on it and garnish with chopped onions, masala peanuts, chopped coriander leaves, pomegranate seeds, nylon sev, tamarind chutney, freshly grated coconut, grated beetroot and grated cheese and serve.

Dabeli Tukda is a spicy, tangy and sweet street food from the Kutch region of Gujarat. It is sometimes referred to as Kutchi Dabeli.
