The restaurant takes design cues from coastal South Indian residences, resembling a classic Mangalorean bungalow and set among verdant tamarind trees. The cuisine, put together by chef Naren Thimmaiah and his crew, is the product of extensive study, interviews with regional residents, and the painstaking testing of traditional recipes.
Bengaluru Oota Company
With a "by reservation only" arrangement, Bengaluru Oota Company is able to provide a cosy eating experience in a charming yellow-walled house in Halasuru. The restaurant's Gowda-Mangalorean menu is updated daily to reflect what's fresh in the market, and there are only five tables available. Guests may specify any dietary restrictions they may have when they make a reservation for a table. The five courses of a traditional Indian lunch consist of beverages that are dependent on the seasons, traditional appetisers, aromatic curries, rice varieties, chutneys, pickles, pachadis, and of course, curd rice. The experience is completed with desserts and filter coffee. Divya Prabhakar, a 7th-generation Gowda from Ulsoor with an 18-year career in hospitality, owns and operates the restaurant. She will inform you about the history and preparation of the regional delicacies on your table while making sure you take extra servings of kori gassi and mutton cutlets.
