Yami Gautam is seen here opposite Ayushman Khurrana yet again after her splendid performance in Vicky Donor, which was her debut film. She plays the character of a content creator in Bala who falls in love with a man but is unaware of his receding hairline and the fact that he wears a wig. The duo gets married, but soon the truth starts to unveil. Bala is a heartfelt and bittersweet film. Dealing with the sensitive issue of premature baldness, complexion and the prejudice surrounding looks, this has been an important film for Yami Gautam.

2. URI: The Surgical Strike
Playing the role of a supporting actor in this action thriller, Yami Gautami’s character showcased a lot of strength in this film. She plays the role of an undercover RAW agent named Jasmine d’Almeida in URI: A Surgical Strike and her nuanced performance stole the show in every scene she was in. And given that they were much lesser than the leads, it left us wanting for more.
