Moviegoers have a lot to look forward to as the second half of 2023 begins. The second half of the year looks to be exciting for movie fans, with a slate of some of the most anticipated Indian movies of 2023. It is a good year for Ranbir Kapoor and Shahrukh Khan fans, as some of the movies coming out this year, starring them in lead roles have been the most anticipated movies of 2023.
The most awaited Indian movies of 2023 list for this half of the year appears to be promising, especially after the release of Pathaan, which opened really well and made a bang at the box office, but there are plenty more anticipated movies of 2023 to come such as Pushpa: The Rule, Tiger 3, Jawan, and Dunki.
1. Pushpa 2: The Rule
Fans are eagerly awaiting the sequel to Pushpa: The Rise, starring Allu Arjun which was one of the biggest blockbusters of 2022. Filming for Pushpa 2: The Rule has recently concluded in Vizag. Fans are considering this sequel one of the most anticipated Indian movies of 2023. In the first part, The Rise, Pushpa, a labourer, creates adversaries as he advances in the world of red sandalwood smuggling. However, when the police try to shut down his illicit company, violence breaks out. In this epic sequence, the feud continues from where it left off!
2. Adipurush
One of the most anticipated movies of 2023, the mythological Indian film Adipurush, which is based on the Sanskrit Ramayana, is scheduled for release in June this year. The film is a multi-starrer, with Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, and Saif Ali Khan all playing prominent lead roles. The film, which is produced by T-Series and Retrophiles, was written and directed by Om Raut. The premise of this movie, due to its mythological inspiration from the Ramayana is what makes it one of the most anticipated Indian movies of 2023. The movie revolves around Raghava, the king of Ayodhya, who in order to recover his wife Janaki, (who has been kidnapped by Lankesh, the demon king of Lanka, 7,000 years ago) journeys to the island of Lanka with the aid of Hanuman's army.
3. Tiger 3
One of the top three most anticipated movies of 2023 is Salman Khan's Tiger 3 among the long list of upcoming flicks. The film is directed by Kabir Khan and is anticipated to have a huge Diwali release in 2023. Katrina Kaif will also be seen starring in the role opposite Salman. This is one of the most anticipated movies of 2023 as it brings back Salman and Katrina on screen after a long hiatus. That aside, the buzz around Shah Rukh Khan's appearance in the film is high and cine-goers are thrilled about this on-screen union.
4. Jawan
Following the success of Pathaan Shah Rukh Khan's fans are looking forward to one of the most anticipated Indian movies of 2023, starring the king himself, Jawan, in which he has teamed up with Tamil director Atlee.
Alongside Shah Rukh Khan, Nayanthara plays the key lead role in the film. On June 2, Jawan was supposed to release originally. According to reports, the producers have chosen to delay the release since VFX work is still unfinished. With the new teaser, all the surrounding hype about the release of Jawan has been strategically increased, giving fans yet another reason to excitedly anticipate its release. The movie will now premiere in September to avoid a conflict with Ranbir Kapoor's Animal and other films which are the most anticipated Indian movies of 2023.
5. Dunki
Dunki is another film starring Shah Rukh Khan, and is directed by famous director Rajkumar Hirani. Shah Rukh Khan and Rajkumar Hirani, who has had a successful career as a director giving us movies like Munnabhai and 3 Idiots, are working together for the first time on this project. Taapsee Pannu also stars in the movie. Are you wondering why the name Dunki? 6. Animal

In the viral video, Bobby Deol, who is also in the film, and Kapoor can be seen kissing each other sweetly. On social media, the video has become very popular. The story revolves around a mafia drama that examines the tumultuous relationships between each character and eventually results in the protagonist taking on the characteristics of an animal.
7. Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani
A forthcoming Hindi romantic comedy film titled Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani is directed by Karan Johar and written by Ishita Moitra, Shashank Khaitan, and Sumit Roy. It has been produced by Karan Johar’s Productions in partnership with. Viacom18 Studios. Starring in the movie are some of Bollywood’s most popular traditional and new-age names, including, Dharmendra, Alia Bhatt, Jaya Bachchan, Shabana Azmi, and Ranveer Singh. The movie, which is slated for release in July, centres on an affluent man who falls in love with a middle-class girl and how their parents feel about their relationship.
