After being tight-lipped about her relationship, Naagin actress Mouni Roy finally tied the knot with her long-time beau, Suraj Nambiar, an investment banker based in Dubai. The newly wedded couple got married at Hilton Goa Resort on 27 January, Thursday as per both Malayali and Bengali wedding customs and traditions. The wedding festivities saw many of the actor couple’s friends such as Mandira Bedi, Aamna Sharif, Arjun Bijlani and many more. The bride and groom gave their fans several happy and loved-up images looking stunning in their wedding finery from their wedding ceremonies to help you with all the inspiration for the wedding season.
The Bengali beauty, Mouni Roy looked like a sassy fashionista for her Haldi ceremony dressed in a sleeveless white sharara set. Her ensemble had golden detailing all over, while the dupatta featured a broad golden border. Floral jewelry accompanied her haldi look. Twinning with her, groom Suraj Nambiar also opted for a white monochrome look with a collared kurta and pyjama set. For the Roy-Nambiar mehendi ceremony, Mouni opted for a bright yellow fusion ensemble that came with a statement blouse and a voluminous, flouncy skirt. The halter-neck styled blouse came with additional mirrorwork, cowrie shell detailing and tassels while the intricate embroidery uplifted it. Her skirt was a simple one with embellishments only. Adding a jewelled touch, she wore a traditional maangtika with dangling earrings. Smoky eyes and nude-pink lips gave the final touches to her pre-wedding look. Her beautiful mehndi can be credited to artist Halima Khan, who was also a part of cricketer Jaspreet Bumrah’s wedding. The groom looked dapper for the pre-wedding functions in a beige-coloured kurta accented with a floral embroidered Nehru jacket.
On 27 January, Thursday morning, the couple had a traditional Malayali wedding ceremony. Mouni looked resplendent wearing a traditional Kanjeevaram saree with red and golden woven border. Her traditional temple jewellery was designed by Anmol Jewellers and included maatha-patti, kamar-patti, bangles and earrings. Her bridal makeup included a smokey eye and defined brows with tinted cheeks and neutral lips. Her hair was worn back in a braid with a white floral gajra woven in. She was styled by celebrity stylist Rishika Devnani. The groom wore a gold-toned kurta with a white mundu.
The same evening, the couple had a traditional Bengali wedding ceremony. Mouni wore a Sabyasachi classic red lehenga in handwoven silk with embroidered zardozi borders. The stunning ethnic wear came with a customised veil with a verse written ‘Ayushmati Bhav’. Mouni adorned herself with heavy traditional bridal jewelry from Anmol Jewellers. Her look was accentuated with heavy eye makeup, well-defined brows, mascara-laden eyelashes and tinted lips. The groom, Suraj, wore an ivory silk sherwani with a beige shawl with embroidered borders.
We wish Mouni Roy and Suraj Nambiar a very happy married life.
