Congratulations are in order for Bollywood actors Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani, who just announced that they are expecting. Posting on their social media, the stars wrote, “The greatest gift of our lives👼…Coming soon ❤️🧿🙏🏻” The adorable announcement comes just days after their anniversary on 7 February 2025.
The comments section was quickly flooded with congratulatory messages from friends and fans alike. Fellow actor Ishaan Khatter wrote, “Congrats guys! And bless up, lil one! Safe journey 😁🧿”, while actor Vikrant Massey wrote, “Many many congratulations to you both!!! ❤️🧿”.
Falling in love on Shershah set
The actors who met on the sets of the Dharma production Shershah fell in love during the 5-year-long filming process. The rumours were rife during the promotional events where they wouldn’t take their eyes off each other, but neither confirmed it. In the 2021 release, Sidharth Malhotra played the titular role of Shershah alias Captain Vikram Batra, martyred in action in the Kargil War. Kiara Advani played the role of his love interest, Dimple Cheema. The couple’s performance won accolades all over.
Secret engagement
Many celebrities also share the news of their engagements, like Aditi Rao Hydari did, but much was not known about Kiara and Sid’s engagement till after their wedding. On the couch of Koffee With Karan, where she made an appearance post the wedding, Kiara shared that Sid had proposed during their Rome holiday with his family. The actress shared, “You know when Sid came to that episode (previous year's Koffee With Karan episode), we had just come back from Rome where he proposed to me. My parents weren't there. It was our first family holiday with me and his family."
The film clearly played a major role in them getting together, as not only on the wedding post but Sidharth Malhotra referenced it while proposing too. Kiara shared, “I was so overwhelmed. Then he starts saying the lines of Shershaah. He's like, Dilli ka seedha saadha launda hun (I am a simple boy from Delhi) with the full dialogues of Shershaah, and I burst out laughing."
Sid-Kiara Wedding
In February 2023, the duo tied the knot in the presence of close friends and family members. Many of their industry friends like Karan Johar, Shahid Kapoor, and Juhi Chawla also attended the wedding that took place in the stunning Suryagarh Palace, Rajasthan. The bride and groom both wore Manish Malhotra, and Kiara’s pink bridal look ended up being the hot fashion inspo for that year. Sidharth, too, in his golden dhoti and sherwani, stole hearts. The couple announced and shared the pictures on their social media with the caption, “Ab humari permanent booking hogayi hai” We seek your blessings and love on our journey ahead ❤️🙏 which was an adorable reference to the film where they fell in love.

Couple goals
The very stylish couple has since been seen making appearances together at all major events like the Ambani wedding or NMACC opening, setting absolute couple goals. And apart from their public appearances, the duo is seen often vacationing together and putting up adorable pictures.
Even for their second anniversary earlier this month, Sidharth Malhotra shared a previously unseen picture from the wedding, captioned “Happy anniversary love @kiaraaliaadvani, officially branded as yours forever! ❤️” In the second picture, the actor’s mehendi, which says Ki followed by a heart, is also visible. Talk about sweet gestures!
Kiara Advani on the other hand, shared a cute reel that poked fun at how things have changed, and yet remain the same. Walking down the aisle two years ago, the actress did the gesture of pulling an invisible string, which back then had won hearts all over. This time around, the string is very real! She’s seen working out with husband, pulling his weight with a gym rope. The reel is adorably captioned, “How it started ➡️ How it’s going 🥰…Happy Anniversary to my partner in everything ❤️…Love you @sidmalhotra 😘”
Kiara’s funny reason to get pregnant
Kiara Advani, who was then promoting her 2022 release Jugjugg Jeeyo, was asked about her thoughts on pregnancy given her character in the film Nainaa becomes frustrated when the women of the house arrange a small prayer for her to bear children.
According the media reports, the actress responded with a lighthearted and amusing answer, “I only want to get pregnant so that I can eat whatever I want and let go”! Kiara is known for her strict regime and conscious diet choices, and she joked that pregnancy would be a perfect chance to take a break from the demands of her profession.
