April 2022 can easily be titled ‘the month of blockbusters’ since movie-goers will witness the release of an array of big-ticket Hindi and south Indian-language films. Here’s a complete list of movies releasing this April. Watch the trailer videos and keep this compilation handy so you remember to catch them on the first day, even if not the first show.
1. Beast (Raw in Hindi)
Heard the viral song Arabic Kuthu on Instagram or any other social media platform? That’s a part of Tamil actor Vijay’s upcoming slick action thriller. This project also stars Bollywood actor Pooja Hegde, and Beast’s story revolves around Veera Raghavan (played by Vijay), a former RAW agent, who is given the task of rescuing people from a mall that has been hijacked by an international terrorist organisation. The film will also be released in Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam, in addition to Tamil.

2. KGF: Chapter 2
Kannada actor Yash’s KGF: Chapter 2, the sequel to KGF: Chapter 1, is a film that revolves around the life of an orphan boy Rocky who grows up to become a wealthy and powerful don. In the first instalment, he was up against the owner of a gold mine owner, but in this one, the protagonist will be facing the government, as the latter sees Rocky as a threat to law and order. Watch all the drama and action unfold in KGF: Chapter 2. It also stars actors Sanjay Dutt and Raveena Tandon in pivotal roles. The film will be released in four languages including Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi.

3. Jersey
Starring Bollywood heartthrobs Shahid Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur, Jersey is an upcoming Hindi sports drama directed by GowtamTinnanuri. The film is a remake of a 2019 Telugu film of the same name, which was also directed by Gowtam. The fiction film is based on the life of a talented but failed cricketer who returns to the field in his late 30s. He does so to fulfil his son’s wish for an official team jersey. 4. Heropanti 2
Tiger Shroff and Tara Sutaria-starrer Heropanti 2 is the second instalment of the former’s 2014 hit with the same title. It is a Hindi romance-action film that traces a mission that Tiger’s character Babloo Ranawat, a computer genius and vigilante, is on. He is tasked by the government to kill a set of enemies. Everything seems to be fine until Babloo gets mistaken as the leader of the set he is up against.

5. Acharya
After the massive success of his latest release RRR, actor Ram Charan is geared up to return to the silver screen alongside megastar Chiranjeevi and Pooja Hedge with Telugu action-drama Acharya. The movie plot revolves around a Naxalite-turned-social reformer who stands up against the Endowments Department regarding the misappropriation of temple funds and donations. The film will only release in the Telugu language for now, and it also stars mommy-to-be actor Kajal Aggarwal.
