Iran already waived visas for China,  Oman,  Turkey,  Lebanon,  Syria, Azerbaijan and Armenia; this latest program builds on that.

Ezzatollah Zarghami, the Iranian Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts, stated that the opportunity was taken to increase tourism arrivals and draw tourists from more countries.
