Passi was raised in an environment that was guarded. Her grandfather started a construction company after migrating from Pakistan. Among the many notable structures that her grandfather constructed are Palika Bazar, the Doordarshan building, and Vayu Bhavan. They resided in Greater Kailash before relocating to Jor Bagh, and she attended Modern School Barakhamba and Jesus and Mary College. She always dreamed of being an architect, ever since she was a little girl playing with plans, materials and textures and going on field trips with her grandfather and dad, but struggled with mathematics and instead focused on design and art.
