A new House Ambassador has been chosen to represent the French luxury brand, Louis Vuitton, and it’s none other than the global icon, Deepika Padukone. The actor, producer, philanthropist, and entrepreneur is the first Indian in the said role.

Padukone also stars in the brand’s campaign featuring leather goods, precisely unveiling the new Dauphine bag. This marks her first campaign as House Ambassador, after previously making an appearance in Louis Vuitton’s creative director, Nicolas Ghesquière’s novel-inspired pre-Fall 2020 campaign.

“With over 30 feature films to her credit - including Piku, Padmavaat and most recently Gehraiyaan - the actor has notably been named a member of the jury of this year’s 75th Cannes Film Festival. In 2018, Time Magazine named Padukone as one of their ‘100 Most Influential People’.

She was also recently awarded the TIME 100 Impact Award for her contribution to the Field of film and Entertainment,” the luxury brand said in a statement. “Padukone has been touted as one of Indian Cinema’s most loved and successful actresses to date, and her achievements have made her an icon of recent times.” This move clearly defines the importance of the Indian market for luxury brands.

In the campaign, the actor channels her free-spirited nature by wearing all-white overalls and carrying the coveted Dauphine bag against a clean, blue backdrop. The bag has a compact, purse-like structure that comes dressed in a two-toned monogram canvas and with the signature metallic LV closure. In another image released by the brand, Deepika wears a white jacket while the chain strap of the bag adds a refreshing touch to the look.

We go back to the moments when Deepika looked all chic and stylish wearing Louis Vuitton’s exemplary closet numerous times:

For a gala dinner hosted by the luxury behemoth at the 59th Venice Biennale, Padukone was in attendance at the celebration dressed in a cropped vest jacket, dramatic ruffled collared shirt, and olive-hued bermuda shorts and sporting the iconic Dauphine handbag.

Another time, the actor refined elegance by wearing a head-to-toe checkerboard printed look with a cropped jacket and a skirt. She accessorised the look with quilted boots and LV-embossed hoops.

Padukone has her own way of giving the season’s trends a discerning take. Dressed in a beige coat and white shirt with a black, embossed Louis Vuitton bag, her dress-up formula always steals the limelight.

Out and about in the city, Deepika beats the summer heat in chic style. She picked a beige-toned loungewear set and adding to her athleisure look is a black tote bag sporting the brand’s iconic monogram design. The star has been sliding Louis Vuitton’s it-bags for stylish off-duty looks.

There is no doubt that Padukone and Louis Vuitton’s aesthetes are a perfect match when it comes to serving high-fashion looks.
