Fresh after the Zoya Akhtar-directed Archies fame last year, where she played the earnest and sweet Betty Cooper, Khushi Kapoor’s been busy as a bee with brand collabs, signing new movie deals, and more. The rising Gen Z Bollywood star has now also been signed on as the first-ever face of Korean skincare brand The Face Shop in India. We had a freewheeling chat with the lovely young actress about this partnership, her work, her skincare regime, beauty staples and more.

It’s been incredibly exciting to see the film connect with audiences on such a large scale. From immersing myself in the vibrant culture to collaborating with talented cast and crew members, every moment was filled with learning and growth. Personally, it was a dream come true to be a part of it, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to bring characters to life on the big screen.

Life after Archies has been a whirlwind of exciting opportunities. I’ve also been exploring new ventures and collaborations across different industries.

As an actor, skincare is an essential part of my daily routine, with long hours on set, coupled with shoots and meetings, I always seek out extra hydration and nourishment to my skin. This is where the brand perfectly fits into my everyday skincare routine giving me an extra glow. This collaboration marks my first venture into skincare, and I am particularly excited to partner with a leading Korean brand renowned for its innovative approach to clean beauty and products that are backed by nature and science. I’m an avid fan of K-beauty as it gives me glowing skin and the confidence to go about my day, so you could say this is a notable feather in my cap!

To me, clean beauty goes beyond the absence of harmful chemicals. It’s about making conscious choices that benefit both individuals and the planet. With The Face Shop, I look forward to sharing the transformative power of Korean skincare & clean beauty with consumers in India.

I’ve always been drawn to Korean skincare for its innovative formulations which are backed by its cutting-edge ingredients and technologies. Also, I feel Korean skincare products are very gentle, light-weight yet effective on your skin. Furthermore, for me, hydration has always been a key element in my skincare routine and when it comes to Korean skincare, their products are designed to promote hydration & glowing skin.

Of late, I’m obsessed with the Rice Water Bright Foaming Cleanser and the Rice & Ceramide Emulsion from The Face Shop. Also, the Therapy Vegan Moisturizing Sun Serum from the brand has become my new cult favourite.

Skincare habits that I prioritise daily are cleansing my skin thoroughly, moisturising religiously, and never skipping sunscreen. These simple steps may seem basic, but they form the foundation of healthy, glowing skin.

One thing that occasionally bothers me about my skin is sensitivity. My skin can sometimes react to changes in the environment or new products. It’s something I’m mindful of and take care of my skin first and foremost, ensuring it’s healthy and glowing from within. Hence, I prefer using Korean skincare products which are gentle yet effective on my skin.

Yes, I think one of my favourite nuskhas has been using rice water for my skincare regimen and I’m glad that The Face Shop has made it so easy to use with their rice water range.

I think my sister Janhvi Kapoor has flawless skin and hair and always looks effortlessly beautiful.

I cannot live without my serum, moisturiser & sunscreen. I always carry them with me whenever I travel. For quick touch-ups, skincare essentials like sunscreen and lip balms are always in my handbag.

I feel Gen Z follows international beauty trends & loves to experiment but like to keep it very simple yet effective. According to me, go-to skincare rituals would be double cleansing, toning, moisturising, and applying sunscreen. Gen Z may also use targeted treatment products such as acne spot treatments, vitamin C serums to address specific skincare concerns like acne, hyperpigmentation, and dullness.

I believe Gen Zs are influenced by social media beauty trends and recommendations from online creators. They are more likely to discover new products and techniques. They are more inclined to embrace imperfections and unique features rather than following traditional beauty standards.

I would like to emphasise the importance of self-love and inner confidence among young girls. It is important to embrace your individuality, celebrate your strengths, and be kind to yourself. Take care of yourself physically and mentally, and prioritize your well-being above all else.
