It is always great to see your favourite stars get all glammed up for a red carpet appearance, and its something as prestigious as the Emmys, well, its simply a visual treat. The 76th Primetime Emmy Awards, September 15 at the Peacock Theater in Downtown Los Angeles, California was a star-studded evening, bringing together some of the brightest of talents in television for a celebration of excellence in the film and television industry.
While those who actually took centre stage during the ceremony were the Emmys 2024 winners, the red carpet that preceded the event was a breathtaking display of its own kind. As we see Hollywood's elite gather to honour the year's best in television, they also showcased their impeccable style on the red carpet making the Emmys 2024 a feast for fashion enthusiasts of such kind.
Laverne Cox
Let’s begin with our first standouts of the night on the Emmys Awards red carpet, graced in a stunning vintage Alexander McQueen gown. What gave a dramatic touch and a look of elegance to this black and gold satin dress were the striking golden decals, that included a fierce tiger.
Cox accessorised this gown with a gold choker that draped gracefully and a large velvety stash that made the overall look feel complete along with her dark brown lip, shimmer lids and loose waves.
Brie Larson
Emmy Awards red carpet had a bunch of peplum moments, and this by far was our most favourite. Best Actress nominee for Lessons In Chemistry, Brie Larson, made her entrance in a custom Chanel ensemble for the Emmys 2024. Navy organza, black satin, tulle and taffeta were in a wonderful mix on full display through the intricately detailed dress which showed the designer’s excellent craftsmanship.
Larson completed her look with the exquisite white-gold and diamond jewels, thanks to Chanel again. It was made sure that her makeup was kept soft and natural to enhance her features followed by a sleek hair updo that brought timeless elegance to her stunning look on the red carpet.
Ayo Edebiri
A custom Bottega Veneta gown whose design was based on the creative director Matthieu Blazy's Pre-Spring 2025 collection was the breakout star Ayo Edebiri. Last seen, rather heard, voicing the character of Envy in this year’s release Inside Out 2, Ayo shined with her Emmy Awards outfit.
Edebiri’s strapless gown had a unique print, which made it the focal point by adding a touch of whimsy sophistication while the long length of the skirt brought in a sense of glamour and drama to it.
Jeremy Allen White
Seen in an impeccably tailored Calvin Klein ensemble was Jeremy Allen White who not only looked great but also won big at the Emmy Awards 2024. . His sharply tailored jacket perfectly fit him and its safe to say that he brought back the charm of a classic tuxedo. We love that The Bear actor went for a bowtie, and kept the look clean to let his slicked back hair do all the talking.
Reese Witherspoon
A radiant presence at the 76th Primetime Emmy Awards, Reese Witherspoon was seen in a stunning strapless Dior gown styled by Petra Flannery.
The black gown had a flowing skirt cinched to the waist and was delicately adorned with gold flowers that cascaded from the bodice to the hem. A detail to not notice would be the tulle detailing at the bottom, intricately done, gathered by the recurring golden flowers. Such a combination of textures and embellishments brings a very feminine feel to the aura of the gown.
With another sleek hair updo and natural makeup moment, Witherspoon let her radiant smile and stunning gown have their moment making her stand out on the red carpet. Elle Woods would be proud of her.
Eugene and Dan Levy
Another stylish entrance at the Emmy Awards had us smile at the father-son duo, Eugene and Dan Levy, who showcased their coordinated yet contrasting outfits which were a true testament to their distinct personalities from one another.
Eugene Levy embraced a classic style with a dark navy double-breasted suit and a vibrant poppy blue tie from Prada while Dan on the other hand opted for a much more contemporary look that entailed a black suit jacket and pants which was paired with a striking white blouse, all from Loewe, that had a kind of neckline made sure to add a touch of drama. Something that did not change though was his signature chunky black glasses which completed his style!
This duo’s appearance not only shared their love for fashion through this look but also showed their close bond that added a touch of warmth and humour to look forward to in the evening.
Nicola Coughlan
Having a futuristic silver off-the-shoulder gown moment was seen Nicola Coughlan, who is known to kick ass with her bold and original and stunning fashion choices.
Her custom made Prabal Gurung gown at the Emmy Awards had a structured corset and a bubble-gum-shaped peplum over a long skirt. Such a design of a unique kind made Coughlan and her metallic moment stand out.
She was also seen accessorising the look with a red Artists4Ceasefire pin that well reflected Nicola’s dedication to world affair. The Bridgerton actress has been quite vocal, and made sure that her voice was clear on the red carpet of the Emmy Awards 2024 too. She complemented her glam gown with simple styling with her simple centre-part half-updo and soft rosy eyeshadow and blush.
With the awards season just beginning, Emmys red carpet was a fun glimpse into what the stylists have in store for our favourite stars. Apart from the ones mentioned here, many others shined bright on the Emmy red carpet, most notably, Meryl Streep with her sharp suit, Mindy Kaling in the most flattering Gaurav Gupta, Quinta Brunson in a Georges Chakra, winner Liza Colón-Zayas who stunned in a Christian Siriano green gown.
