With fashion brands across categories joining hands to work on collaborative projects, designers are seeing the benefits of teamwork, whether to create one-off or capsule collections with seemingly contrasting brands.

Whether it’s Gucci teaming up with adidas or Crocs to put forth its first-ever Indian collaboration collection, these limited-edition launches are setting the fashion world alight. Here, we’ve rounded up the key new fashion collaborations that have got everyone talking about.

Elegant and effortless, global apparel retailer, UNIQLO’s collaboration with fashion designer Mame Kurogouchi has delivered chic loungewear and innerwear that uses clean and seamless lines. The collection includes the global retailer’s famed AIRism and 3D knit fabric technology, along with a new AIRism silk blend material that caresses the skin and is soft to the touch. A great constant throughout the collaboration collection is an earthy colour palette of white, beige, brown and black, chosen to accentuate various skin tones. The collection includes sleeveless tank tops, bra camisoles, a skirt with back slits, wireless bra and ultra-thin sanitary shorts.

Sported by the likes of Rihanna and Priyanka Chopra, Crocs are a favourite among different generations.  Launching their first ever Indian brand partnership with lifestyle retailer Chumbak, the staple clogs have got in an urban Indian iteration. The signature Chumbak designs are known for their joyous colour palette and the same could be seen in the footwear collection featuring three pairs of clogs with patterns of ikat and paisley. Practical, quirky and decorative as well as comfortable and slip resistant - these shoes retain the best of both brands. The collection inspires a new generation of street styles.

The month of March saw the coming together of two iconic shoe houses: Birkenstock and Manolo Blahnik together. And now, the collaboration is back for a second edition. While the first Manolo Blahnik x Birkenstock collaboration focused on lush velvet and bejewelled buckles, the second release explores a one-of-a-kind collection of shoes, merging craftsmanship with function, and glamour with practicality. Blahnik has put his signature spin on some of Birkenstock's trademark styles, adding polka dots and PVC to the sandals and clogs. This second edition dropped in stores and online on June 23.

The elegant, dazzling stones and jewellery of Swarovski have now found their way to the world of dining and kitchen with a new tableware collection, partnering with world-renowned porcelain artisan Rosenthal. It’s a range of candy-coloured tableware featuring a whimsical yet elegant line-up of porcelains. Inspired by the 19th-century Austrian art movement, the collection titled Signum is coloured in Swarovski’s vibrant brand hues of blue, green, pink and yellow, coupled with a retro-futuristic vibe. Additionally, the collection features a swan-engraved cut-crystal lid as well as stamps featuring a gold Swarovski swan for an extra touch of luxury. A nod to Rosenthal's expertise is also evident in its eye-catching printing and delicate hand-painted décor details. The collection includes tea sets, espresso sets, and full dining services. The collection will be available in stores in July 2022.

Global artist, Cardi B is back with her latest Reebok collaboration. The capsule line titled, ‘Let Me Be…Enchanted’ focuses on a new range of footwear and apparel. Kicking off the line is the most eye-catching sneakers - sleek monochromatic shoes that show Cardi B's unapologetic attitude with the golden tongue artwork at the front. The collection introduces a new two-in-one apparel piece, an ice blue-coloured leotard that is designed in a signature fitted style to accentuate every curve. The first part of Cardi B ‘Let Me Be…Enchanted’ collection starts at Rs 3,999 and is available online.

Creative director Alessandro Michele’s latest Gucci collection is presented in collaboration with sportswear giant, adidas. The collection expands on the sartorial streetwear creation with the adidas stripes evident on headgear, coats, jackets and more. The ready-to-wear offering recalls retro sportswear silhouettes in a variety of future-conscious material fabrications across polyester, cotton and viscose. From shirts to pants, many pieces are playing a game of contrasts with the signature three-adidas stripes.  As usual, the collection is a visual feast. And this particular collaboration with adidas is yet another utopian dream made a reality through the Gucci lens.

NYC-based contemporary artist Tyrrell Winston, best known for his works featuring deflated basketballs has collaborated with Reebok for a highly anticipated footwear collection, Tyrrell Winston x Reebok Question Mid. The upcoming pairs arrive in a clean yet evoking iteration of the iconic Reebok heritage sneaker, featuring pony hair elements, Winston’s autograph on the outsole, and subtle nods to the artist’s signature New York doodles or ‘Noodles.’ The Question Mid is crafted in white leather on the upper and black leather around the toe box and midsole. Additional details include black leather accents along with the tongue and cuff, as well as faux fur along the heel tab.
