3/4 cup Whole wheat flour
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1/4 cup butter
2-3tbsp warm milk
3 tbsp finely chopped pistachios
1/4tsp cardamom powder
1/4tsp baking powder
Few strands of saffron(kesar)
How to make Whole wheat Kesar pista cookies Recipe?
- Soak saffron in warm milk. let it sit aside for 5minutes.
- Meanwhile sift wheat flour, cardamom powder and baking powder together and keep aside.
- Beat butter and powdered sugar till light and fluffy. Add saffron milk and 2tbsp chopped pistachios mix well.
- Now add sifted flour and with a soft hand blend everything together to form a dough.
- Refrigerate the dough for 15minutes.
- Make small equal lemon size balls from the dough and place them in a 1" distance on a lined baking tray.
- Sprinkle few pistachios on each balls and flatten them out lightly. Bake at 180 degree centigrade preheated oven for 15minutes.
- Let the cookies sit on the baking tray for 10minutes..
- Now remove cookies from the baking tray and place them on cooling rack to cool completely before storing in an airtight container.
