Lassi is a popular traditional beverage from Punjab. It is made from yogurt (thick curd) to which sugar and some flavourings are added. The curd is whisked till smooth and frothy. Sugar is added for sweetness.
Sweet and salty are the two main variations of the much-loved lassi. However, in recent years variations like mango lassi, rose lassi, strawberry lassi, pineapple lassi have become popular.
Here, the chef makes makhaniya lassi, pedha lassi and mango lassi.
The thick, creamy, luscious lassi is the heart and soul of Punjab and is available in every household and every nook and corner of the state. However, its popularity transcends the state boundaries. It is equally loved in other parts on India.
