Gur Papdi or jaggery brittle is sweet barfi made by roasting whole wheat flour in ghee and adding jaggery to it. It is poured on a pre-greased plate and garnished with dry fruits.
Ayurveda believes that jaggery has medicinal values as it is extracted from sugar cane, and unlike white sugar, it is processed less. Jaggery is used as a base for medicines, tablets and syrups too.
