INGREDIENTS

  • For Besan ka Sheera

    • 12-15 pistachios

    • 12-15 almonds

    • 12-15 cashew nuts

    • 1 tsp cardamom powder

    • 1 tsp dry ginger powder

    • 2 tbsp ghee

    • 1 tbsp gram flour

    • water as required

    • 6-7 tsp sugar

    • 100 ml milk

PREPARATION

    Grind pistachios, almonds and cashew nuts along with cardamom powder, dry ginger powder into a powder.

    Heat ghee in a pot and add gram flour. Saute until besan changes colour and becomes fragrant.

    Switch the flame off and add the dry fruit powder. Saute it in the ghee and switch on the flame.

    Add water, sugar and milk and mix well.

    Let the sheera simmer for 3 to 4 minutes and serve hot.

Besan Ka Sheera is a unique but healthy recipe. Chef Pankaj Bhadouria makes this sweet dish from her father’s recipe. It is made with besan (Gram Flour), milk and ghee. It is enriched with lots of dry fruits and cardamom powder and ginger powder.

This delicious dessert is used as a home remedy for cold and cough in Punjabi households.
