Ingredients For Anjeer Barfi Recipe

  • For Anjeer Barfi

    • 8-10 figs (anjeer), soaked for 2-3 hours

    • 3-4 tbsp ghee for greasing

    • 1 tsp poppy seeds

    • 12-15 dates, seeded

    • 10-12 cashew nuts, finely chopped

    • 8-10 almonds, finely chopped

    • 12-15 pistachios, finely chopped

    • 1 tsp green cardamom powder

    • 1 tsp dried rose petals

    • silver varq as required

How to make Anjeer Barfi Recipe?

  1. Heat ghee in a non-stick pan. Add ¾ of the cashewnuts, ¾ of the almonds and ¾ of the pistachios, mix poppy seeds and cook for 3-5 minutes.
  2. Grind soaked figs and seedless dates together to make a smooth paste and add it to the pan, mix well.
  3. Add green cardamom powder and dried rose petals, mix well and cook till the mixture starts to leave the sides.
  4. Put the mixture onto butter paper and roll it to desired shape, leave to cool. Once cool unwrap it. Cover the top with some varq and then slice.
  5. Serve garnished with remaining nuts.
