Ingredients For Sweet Potato Wheat Cake Recipe
150 GM's Whole wheat flour
1 TSP Baking powder
1/2 tsp Baking soda
200 GM's Milkmaid
75 GM's sugar
75 GM's Softened butter
1 tsp Vanilla essence
4 tbsps Milk or as required
1/2 cup + 1/4th cup sweet potato pureed
1-2 drops purple or pink gel food colour
2 tbsps creamcheese
1 tbsp icing sugar
1.5 tbsps sweet potato puree
Some dried edible rose petals for garnish
How to make Sweet Potato Wheat Cake Recipe?
- Boil the sweet potatoes. Remove the peels and make a puree by adding 2 drops of purple colour. If required add little milk for fine consistency.
- In a bowl add softened butter, sugar, milkmaid. Beat all the three ingredients till the sugar has incorporated well and it looks creamy in texture. Add vanilla essence and beat once more.
- Seive wheat flour,baking powder and baking soda.
- Mix it with a spatula
- Add the wheat mixture in two batches to the condensed milk and mix it with help of spatula.
- Once the flour is combined mix it once with the beater.
- Now add milk 2 tbsps at a time and as required.
- Add in the sweet potato puree (room temperature)
- Fold in the puree with the batter.
- The batter should be thick in consistency.
- Grease an 8" tin with butter and dust some flour.
- Preheat your oven at 180^C for ten mins
- Pour the batter into the mould and bake in a preheated oven for 40-45 mins at 180°C or till the skewer comes out clean.
- Demould the cake and let it cool down.
- For the frosting, in a bowl add creamcheese, icing sugar, sweet potato puree.Mix it well with a spatula.
- With the help of the back of your spoon frost your cake and give it a rustic look. You can garnish it with some dried edible rose petals
- You delicious and healthy Sweet Potato Cake is ready to be relished.
