Ingredients For Stuffed sponge gourd wrapped in beetle leaf Recipe

  • Ingredients:

  • Sponge gourd, washed and peeled. Cut into 2" cylindrical shapes

  • ½ table spoon lemon juice

  • ½ tea spoon black pepper powder

  • Beetle leaves- 6 nos

  • Salt to taste

  • For the stuffing

  • Boiled mashed potatoes -1 cup

  • Grated panneer - 1 cup

  • Chopped green chillies - 1 tea spoon

  • Chopped coriander leaves - 1 tea spoon

  • Chopped ginger - ½ tea spoon

  • Garam masala - 1 tea spoon

  • Roasted cumin powder -½ tea spoon

  • For cooking

  • 1 table spoon cooking oil

How to make Stuffed sponge gourd wrapped in beetle leaf Recipe?

  1. Rub the sponge gourd with lemon juice, pepper powder and salt
  2. Mix all the ingredients for the stuffing
  3. Scoop out the pulp from cut sponge gourd pieces
  4. Fill the hollow cavity in the sponge gourd pieces with the stuffing
  5. Wrap individual pieces in beetle leaf and secure with the thread
  6. Arrange the wrapped sponge gourd pieces in a greased pan
  7. Saute over low flame . Cover the pan with lid. Keep flipping the sponge gourd frequently for even cooking
  8. Serve hot with vegetables salad
