Ingredients For Alu ko achaar Recipe

  • 4-5 medium boiled potatoes

  • ¾ cup soaked yellow split peas

  • 1 large sliced onion

  • Few chopped Coriander leaves

  • 3-4 finely chopped green chillies

  • 3 tbsp white Sesame seeds

  • 1½ tbsp black Sesame seeds

  • 1 tbsp mustard seeds

  • 5-6 black peppercorns

  • 3-4 dry red chilles

  • ½ lemon

  • 3 tbsp mustard oil

  • 1 tbsp cumin seeds

  • ½ tbsp fenugreek seeds

  • ¾ tsp turmeric powder

  • Salt to taste

How to make Alu ko achaar Recipe?

  1. In a large bowl,add diced boiled potatoes and soaked yellow split peas.
  2. Sliced onion, chopped green chilles and Coriander leaves.
  3. In a pan, add white &black Sesame seeds, mustard seeds, black peppercorns, dry red chillies and dry roast until it splatters.
  4. Transfer it into a mixer grinder and grind it into a coarse powder and add it into the bowl.
  5. In the same pan, add mustard oil and heat it. Add the fenugreek seeds,turmeric powder and cumin seeds until the fenugreek seeds turn black.
  6. Transfer it into a bowl and crush a lemon into it.
  7. Toss the bowl until the potatoes and yellow split peas coat the mixture well. Serve with tortillas/rice.
