Chicken lollipop is the perfect appetiser for all your occasions. It is usually made from the middle part of the chicken wings, the one with two bones. It is a popular Indo-Chinese fried chicken appetiser, that goes well with coffee, tea, alcohol or even soft drinks! Transforming the chicken wings is a process requiring patience, but you can always go for ready-made chicken drumsticks if you’re in a hurry. Following are three of the best chicken lollipop recipes you can try at home.

First up we have this delicious restaurant-style chicken lollipop recipe that involves two separate marinations. For the first round of marination, the chicken lollipop ingredients required are ginger-garlic paste, red chilli paste, chilli vinegar, soy sauce and salt. All these ingredients need to be mixed well in a bowl and left to rest for 15-20 minutes. The chicken pieces dipped in this spice mixture should then be marinated in our second mixture. This includes a combination of rice flour, corn flour, maida, salt, red chilli powder and pepper. Add a little water to this mixture and marinate your chicken drumettes in it. Make sure to make a semi-thick paste. Now, heat the oil in your frying pan and deep fry the lollipops in batches. In case the lollipops lose shape during marination, reshape them before frying. Fry the pieces for a good 5-7 minutes till they turn golden brown. Garnish and serve hot, for these lollipops are divine!

One of the best chicken lollipop recipes to try at home is this honey-chili sauce recipe. To make these flavourful and juice lollipops, you need a dozen chicken drummets (or whatever amount you plan to cook), minced ginger and garlic, chilli paste, egg yolks, flour, cornstarch, pepper and salt. Start by scraping the meat down to have the perfect lollipop shapes. Then marinate your chicken in all the ingredients listed above and let it rest for an hour. Now, heat the oil and fry your chicken till it turns golden brown. Make sure to drain the excess oil using paper towels (this is an important step to ensure a guilt-free munching session on these yummy lollipops). Now, to add that extra element to this chicken lollipop at-home recipe, make a quick sauce by adding chilli paste to some simmering water. Remove the sauce from the heat and add some honey. Now drizzle this sauce over the cooked chicken, garnish it with chopped cilantro and dive into a food coma from the comforts of your couch!

This Chicken Lollipop recipe is our favourite when it comes to making the lollipops soft and tender. The key chicken lollipop ingredient for this recipe is buttermilk, which is basically just yoghurt whisked with water and salt. Start by marinating your chicken in buttermilk for a good 1 hour, or keep it in the fridge for 4-6 hours before cooking.
While prepping your chicken, remove the fat and skin and scrape out the meat carefully to form a lollipop-like shape. Now drain the excess buttermilk and add your favourite spices to the chicken. The chicken lollipop masala dry to be used for this recipe includes ginger-garlic paste, chilli powder, and paper. Now you need to add a layer of cornflour or rice flour or an added crispy touch, but this step is optional. Your chicken lollipops are now ready to be grilled or fried. If you’re frilling, then 20-22 minutes at 240°C is good, otherwise, fry the lollipops on medium flame till they’re nice and brown. Serve hot with a quick sauce of ginger, garlic and onions. Alternately, use onions or celery to garnish your plate and savour the tastiest and softest chicken lollipops you can make at home!
