Asia's 50 Best Restaurants Declare Winners For 2024

Mumbai-based Masque (No.23), Delhi's Indian Accent (No.26) and Chennai’s Avartana (No.44) are the three restaurants from India on the first 50

It’s out, a list that most restaurants in Asia look forward to. Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2024 awarded the winners at a delightful ceremony in South Korea. Incidentally, this year’s list features establishments from 19 cities and includes eight new entries. 

Tokyo’s Sézanne climbs to the top spot to be awarded The Best Restaurant in Asia and Singapore leads the rankings with nine entries, welcoming newcomers Seroja (No. 31), also the winner of the Highest New Entry Award 2024, and Lolla (No.43). Mumbai-based restaurant Masque, which was at No.16 in 2023, secured a place at No.22 this year, with Chennai's Avartana slipping to No.44 from its earlier No.30. Delhi-based Indian Accent is at No.26 this year as opposed to its 19th position in 2023. 

Moving up 32 spots is Wing (No.5) in Hong Kong, which takes the Highest Climber Award. Nusara (No.6) is this year’s Gin Mare Art of Hospitality Award recipient while fellow Bangkok spot Haoma (No.90) wins the Sustainable Restaurant Award. 

Mineko Kato from Tokyo’s Faro earns the coveted title of Asia’s Best Pastry Chef, and Kevin Lu of Logy (No.22) in Taipei is the winner of the Beronia Asia's Best Sommelier Award. Sung Anh of Mosu (No.41) in Seoul takes home the peer-voted Inedit Damm Chefs’ Choice. 

Created from the votes of Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants Academy, an influential gender-balanced group of 318 experts made up of food writers and critics, chefs, restaurateurs and regional culinary leaders, this year’s list includes restaurants from 19 cities across the region and eight new entries.

The 2024 list of Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants was revealed on March 26 at a live awards ceremony held at the Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas, Seoul, South Korea. The awards ceremony was preceded by: #50BestTalks, a thought-leadership forum titled ‘Food of the People’; the 50 Best Signature Sessions, a series of sold-out collaborative dining events which saw 50 Best chefs cooking alongside renowned local talent in Seoul; a Chefs’ Feast showcasing the finest cooking and ingredients that South Korea is renowned for; and a ‘Meet the Chefs’ media roundtable.
