Tired of the same old haunt and want to try new flavours in Mumbai? Or, are you tired of travelling through insane Mumbai traffic to get to your favourite spot? With these new restaurants in Mumbai, you can enjoy new and familiar flavours, cuisines, and ambiences—so step out and enjoy!

As he continues his musical career, vocalist Shankar Mahadevan has branched out into the culinary arts. Opening a South Indian restaurant in Mumbai called Malgudi, the musician is paying homage to the cuisine and culture of his native South India. Following the smashing success of its Borivali West outpost, the new Chembur branch serves up genuine South Indian specialities to the city's hungry residents. It is reported that Shankar Mahadevan personally selected the dishes and recipes served at Malgudi, and the singer made note of the fact that many of these items are not well known to the general public.

Take Mulbagal Dosa as an example. There are numerous variations of dosa in Karnataka, and this one has upturned edges, rich, fluffy insides, and crisp,y narrower borders. If you prefer more modern spins on traditional South Indian dishes, Malgudi also offers dishes like benne dosage, thatte idli, and kappi-cino, which takes inspiration from filter coffee.

Boojee Café, a once-quaint coffee shop in Bandra that is now also open in Fort, is little but mighty in coffee quality and popularity. Hidden away in a little cafe, you'll find some of the healthiest wraps, the best hummus, and the most delicious cold brew. Now available at Fort—the eggs, toast, sandwiches, and more all have an amazingly fresh flavour. They prioritise the quality and freshness of the ingredients, whether for baked goods or sandwiches. There is more room to sit and a more relaxed atmosphere at the Fort location because of its greater size. Consistent with the Bandra location, the coffee and cuisine are of high quality, being freshly prepared and tasting great. The fact that some of the same welcoming employees from Bandra are now here, bringing the same positive attitude and excellent service, is also a pleasant surprise.

Mezcalita fans- assemble! They have launched a new restaurant in Bandra for fans of the legendary Mezcalita! And what can you expect? Indulge in a refreshing Mexican drink made with water, rice, cinnamon, sugar, and vanilla while entering a room that embodies the lively spirit of Mexican cuisine. The cuisine of Mezcalita has many similarities with Indian cuisine, but it is the small details that make it truly Mexican. In the ensalada Nopal, the pickled Nopal cactus is the main ingredient, surrounded by diced onions, tomatoes, green chilies, and avocados dressed in an oregano vinaigrette.

As a ubiquitous and inexpensive ingredient, nopal is a staple in Mexican cuisine. Sadly, Aguachile Jícama is expensive elsewhere, but we bet you'll love it too. Aguachile hails from the northern Mexican state of Sinaloa. Since it is a coastal state, the seafood used to make these dishes is always fresh. Instead of seafood, the Mezcalita meal features Mexican jícama root, which has the luscious water content of a radish but doesn't have a strong flavour.

The Nutcracker first opened its doors in 2014 in Kala Ghoda, a charming area of Mumbai famed for its art precinct and rich history. Since then, the cafe has expanded to four more great locations, including Breach Candy! By highlighting vegetarianism and employing both local and international ingredients with an emphasis on freshness and quality, this restaurant brought vegetarianism to the forefront. Our top picks for Sunday brunch include the buttermilk pancakes with maple syrup, akuris, salli eggs, and Turkish eggs, but not limited to those. As you enter this space, the air fills with the aroma of cinnamon French toast and hot coffee, the sound of china and silverware, and the joy of a weekend royal feast.

The restaurant features a striking ambience, is spacious, and is beautifully decorated with a fusion of Roman and Gothic architectural styles, ensuring that anyone who enters will be enchanted. Whether you're an omnivore with an insatiable appetite or a committed vegetarian, Epitome provides a delicious gastronomic adventure that will delight your taste buds. Every dish reveals a unique tale of flavour and imagination, making this hidden gem well worth the hunt.

We suggest Cigar Italiano and Tempura Asparagus Blue Rice Sushi. The sushi is expertly rolled, and the blue rice adds a stunning visual element to the plate. Crunchy tempura and asparagus mixed with creamy cheese and, of course, just the right amount of wasabi will win you over. The Blueberry palak patta is a visual joy, but it's also a surprising and delicious blend of Indian spices with cosmopolitan flavours. Every meal is meticulously prepared using only the freshest, highest-quality ingredients and the most innovative cooking methods.

Coffee Island has been a global name in coffee, and in India, they are now combining their 25-year history with the country's extensive coffee culture. The company is concentrating on providing quality blends, sustainable processes, and immersive café experiences suited to the country's adolescent population, and they are establishing venues where tradition meets innovation. The philosophy of the brand revolves around sustainability; as part of its efforts to lessen its negative influence on the environment, the company uses only compostable cups and finds new applications for its used coffee grounds.

Joining the outstanding coffee experience will be a thoughtfully chosen assortment of freshly made food options, designed by Chef Arjyo Banerjee, one of the most renowned chefs in the nation. Fresh and healthful salads, toasted melts, classic pasta meals, and artisanal sandwiches are just a few of the items on the extensive menu. Vegetarian quinoa bliss bowl, roasted tomato basil bocconcini pie, and pepperoncini spaghetti aglio olio are some of the speciality savoury dishes. Creative sweets like Banoffee with Nolen Gur, Rocky Road Muffins, and custard-filled croissants stand out.

Kadak Lab at ICONIQA Hotel in Andheri (East), Mumbai—right opposite Terminal 2—adds a bold new flavour to the city’s dining scene. This modern Indian restaurant reimagines classic street food with global influences, serving inventive dishes like Hass Avocado Chaat, Shrimp & Crab Panniyaram and Chilli Lobster. The space is designed for every mood, with multiple zones: a café for quick bites, a lively diner for full meals, a terrace garden for relaxed outdoor seating, and a bar offering handcrafted cocktails. With its creative approach to familiar flavours and a versatile setting, Kadak Lab is a fresh, exciting dining experience in Mumbai.

Bringing tastes and cooking methods from the Awadhi kitchens, BarQat makes you long for the delicious old days. BarQat, located near the hotel's lovely poolside, offers guests an unforgettable evening of dining under the stars. With its perfect blend of contemporary style and ageless heritage, BarQat's outside al fresco setting creates the perfect atmosphere. Two typical bhatti (or chargrilling) dishes, Bhatti ka Kalmi (chicken legs smoked with Awadhi spices) and Bhatti ka Jheenga (tiger prawns marinated with brown onions and house spices), are worth trying after the Lucknowi Mutton Seekh with mint and coriander chutney. Flavours abound in the traditional seekh kebabs, the Bhatti chicken and prawns, and the traditional smoky kebabs. When combined with the chutneys, the charred texture brought out an additional bite.

For the bread basket, try the Lucknowi Kulcha and the characteristic Khameeri Roti, both of which are sourdough bread staples from the Mughal era. Any conversation about Lucknowi or North Indian food must include the renowned Gosht Nihari. The uninitiated should try Gosht Nihari, a flavorful stew made with bone marrow and traditional spices and cooked in ghee over low heat. A wintertime classic, the plush Khameeri Roti was paired with BarQat's trademark Gosht Nihari for the ultimate in comfort.
