August comes bearing good news for the fans of the Japanese anime series, Kengan Ashura. After a long waiting time of nearly a year, the second half of season 2 of Kengan Ashura is here, and its hard to keep calm.

When Ura Sunday’s polls had Kengan Ashura taking the top spot for the manga that should be made into a series, back in 2015, and the series details were released in 2017, a lot of fans assumed that it’d be a one-part series. The first season of Kengan Ashura anime, a Netflix original released in 2019, was much loved. In 2022, it was then announced that the streaming giant would now be looking into bringing Kengan Ashura season 2 to life. The Kengan Ashura season 2 was then divided into two parts, the first of which was released in September 2023, and garnered rave reviews. And for the fans who have waited patiently since, the announcement for the Kengan Ashura season 2 release date was made earlier this year, and Kengan Ashura part 2 is all set to hit our screens in August 2024.
What is Kengan Ashura all about?
Set in the Edo period, Yabako Sandrovich's Kengan Ashura is a world where in addition to contracts and meetings, business deals are made in a brutal, often deadly way; gladiator fights. To settle the deals of wealthy businessmen and merchants, gladiators battle it out in grand arenas, and Tokita Ohma, who is here to be the strongest of them all, is only concerned with winning the matches. How an old timid man is appointed as his manager, and how he makes his way deeper into the Kengan matches is what makes up the plot of the anime Kengan Ashura, Netflix.
