Vicky Kaushal will portray the role of Maratha ruler Sambhaji in the next historical epic film Chhaava, which is set to be released in Hindi. Chhaava release date has been decided to be December 6th, 2024, and fans are eagerly waiting for this winter release! Chhaava movie’s story is based on Shivaji Sawant's Marathi book of the same name ‘Chhaava’. This much-awaited film is produced by Dinesh Vijan and directed by Laxman Utekar under the banner of Maddock Films. Divya Dutta, Pradeep Rawat, Ashutosh Rana, Neil Bhoopalam, Rashmika Mandanna, Akshaye Khanna, Santosh Juvekar, and Prakash Raj are among the other actors in the film.

Filming started in October 2023 and concluded in May 2024; pre-production started in April 2023. A. R. Rahman created the score and album of music for the film, while Amitabh Bhattacharya wrote the lyrics, and Chhaava release date has been announced to be December 6, 2024. The film's director, Laxman Utekar, and his crew spent a whole year studying the reign of the Maratha monarch in the 17th century. Exploring ancient cities like Aurangabad, Ratnagiri, Pune, Nashik, and Paithan allowed them to fully experience the art, architecture, and culture of that time. To fully grasp the era, they consulted historians, and visited museums, and forts as part of their study.
