Shamlaji Melo
On the full moon day in the month of Kartik, Shamlaji Melo is celebrated, which is also called the Kartik Poornima Fair, one of the most unique festivals in Gujarat! 45th Saptak Music Festival
This is one of the best Gujarati events that you should not miss! From January 1st through the 13th, the Saptak Music Festival will celebrate its 45th anniversary with a tribute to legendary guitarist and festival co-founder Vidushi Manju Mehta. There will be almost 150 performers performing in 43 different sessions! Over 150 performers will be performing in 43 separate In the classical dance portion of the event, renowned performers will perform Kathak, while Kuchipudi and Bharatnatyam jugalbandi will be shown. An accomplished tabla player from the Banaras Gharana, Sanju Sahai, will be performing live at the gathering. Performing at the event regularly are music legends such as Ajoy Chakraborty, Amjad Ali Khan, N Rajam, Parveen Sultana, Ronu Majumdar, Sajan Mishra, Shahid Parvez, and Shut Mudgal.
