The island was named after honourable Colonel John Munro, Diwan of the former princely state of Travancore. 5. Netrani Island, Karnataka 

Netrani is an Indian private island in the Arabian Sea, off the coast of Karnataka. Pigeon Island is a popular name for the island, which is home to a large population of pigeons and wild goats. Sharks, whales, and butterflyfish are just a few of the exotic marine creatures that can be found underwater. The island's wildlife is undoubtedly the main draw, as it provides a natural habitat for many corals, eels, fishes, and shrimps.

6. Barren Island, Andaman

Barren Island, Andaman's most easterly island, is India's and South Asia's only active volcanic island. This beautiful island's breathtaking beauty and lava rocks make it one of India's most fascinating islands and will undoubtedly take you on a memorable journey. The sad part is that setting foot on one of the most beautiful Indian islands is prohibited. Only board vessels are permitted to circle the island.

7. Agatti Island, Lakshadweep 

Agatti is among the top islands in India for a holiday, with its stunning lagoons, crystal blue waters, and a coastline teeming with marine life. The lagoons here are home to a vast and vibrant colony of corals, which is the main draw for divers. While the sandy soft beach is very relaxing and offers multiple avenues for enjoying the scenery, the adventures will not allow you to stop and rest. 8. Majuli Island, Assam

Majuli Island is one of the world's largest river islands, and thus one of the largest in India. This island is famous for its breathtaking sunrises and sunsets, making it the most unique of all the islands in India. You'll get a good taste of Assamese culture here. This is the most unusual of India's islands. On its coast, you'll find moss instead of sand and traditional North-Eastern cuisine instead of seafood.
