The courtroom is set, and the gavel ready. Justice once again takes the centre stage as the much awaited trailer of Jolly LLB 3 hits the screens. Blending in sharp satire with an intense legal drama, and a face-off that fans have long anticipated, the trailer of Jolly LLB 3 promises a rollercoaster of emotions. An Akshay Kumar upcoming film along with Arshad Warsi reprising their roles, the film brings forth a clash of ideologies, egos, and wit, all of which sets the stage for a gripping legal showdown.

Face-off between two Jollys

Director Subhash Kapoor, who also helmed the first two films, returns this time with an even more ambitious narrative. Instead of introducing a new “Jolly”, the makers of Jolly LLB 3 have decided to bring both the previous leads together, setting the stage for a courtroom clash like none other. The trailer of the film wastes no time in establishing the rivalry, rather offers the audience a glimpse into the worlds of the two lawyers, with two different approaches to justice, and a single courtroom that might not be big enough to hold both their egos.

Familiar cast

Arshad Warsi and Akshay Kumar play the lead roles in Jolly LLB 3 cast. Arshad Warsi, who played the original Jagdish Tyagi in Jolly LLB (2013), brings back his underdog charm, while Akshay Kumar with his portrayal in Jolly LLB 2 (2017) brings forth a more heroic arc, along with action and emotions. With the courtroom theatrics blending in seamlessly, the two actors in Jolly LLB 3 cast are not only reprising their roles but are pitted against each other, which is a first for the franchise and a brilliantly creative move.

Supporting actor, Saurabh Shukla also returns as the ever conflicted, hilariously overwhelmed judge, adding the much needed familiarity and continuity to the narrative of the franchise.

A deeper dive into the trailer

The trailer of Akshya Kumar’s new film, Jolly LLB 3 hints at a plot that delves deeper into the themes of systemic corruption, media sensationalism, and the performative nature of law in the public eye. With glimpses into high profile cases, public outrage, and legal manipulations, all of which has been underscored by razor sharp dialogues that question the very essence of justice, this upcoming film from the franchise is sure to be an intriguing one. Moreover, not losing sight of the humour that Jolly LLB is known for, along with its satirical jabs, courtroom absurdities, and quirky characters, this Akshay Kumar upcoming film surely keeps the tone engaging.

Striking the perfect balance between nostalgia and novelty, the trailer of Jolly LLB 3 stops short of revealing too much. Smartly teasing at the complexity of the narrative, it keeps the audiences anticipating as to whether the idealist Jolly will be able to outwit the seasoned showman. With the courtroom becoming the battleground between justice and ambition, Jolly LLB 3 promises powerful performances, a compelling premise, and the much beloved courtroom fireworks.

Other compelling courtroom dramas to watch

With the recent release of the trailer of Jolly LLB 3, here are some enthralling legal dramas to watch while you wait for the release of the film-

1. No One Killed Jessica (2011)

Based on the high profile Jessica Lal murder case, No One Killed Jessica is a much acclaimed legal drama with a blend of investigative journalism. Although most of the story of this film unfolds outside the courtroom, the legal sequences serve as the major appeal. With stellar performances by Rani Mukerji and Vidya Balan, No One Killed Jessica showcases the power of public outrage and media in pushing for justice when the legal system fails.

2. Shahid (2013)

A film that is based on the real life story of human rights lawyer Shahid Azmi, Shahid is a National Award winning movie that beautifully blends in legal and emotional themes. Showcasing Rajkummar Rao in the titular role of a man who transforms from a falsely accused prisoner to a defender of justice for the marginalised, the courtroom sequences in Shahid are truly moving.

3. Court (2014)

An indie gem that has won accolades on a worldwide level, Court is a minimalist yet brutally honest portrayal of India’s legal system. Following the trial of a folk singer accused of inciting a sewagee worker’s suicide through his lyrics, this film opts for realism and portrays the procedural delays, class divides, and bureaucratic absurdities with stunning authenticity.

4. Pink (2016)

Starring Amitabh Bachchan as a retired lawyer who returns to court to defend three young women falsely accused of assault, Pink is a landmark in the domain of Indian courtroom dramas. A searing indictment of victim blaming and patriarchy, Pink dissects the aspects of consent, gender dynamics, and societal hypocrisy.
