Shark Tank Season 1: Know Who The Sharks Are Married To

A quick look at the partners and spouses of Shark Tank India judges.

Team ZZ

Indian audiences lauded Shark Tank for its novel premise. The show included a panel of seven investors, all of whom were successful company leaders, who provided cash to the start-ups. Ashneer Grover, Vineeta Singh, Peyush Bansal, Namita Thapar, Aman Gupta, Ghazal Alagh, and Anupam Mittal were the show's primary sharks. While we are familiar with these sharks, we know little about their spouses. Here, we tell you a little bit about these entrepreneurs personal lives:

1. Madhuri Jain Grover and Ashneer Grover

Madhuri Jain Grover is Ashneer Grover's wife. They are the parents of two children: a son named Avy and a daughter named Mannat. Ashneer was the founder and MD of BharatPe, while his wife Madhuri served as the company's head of controls.

2. Kaushik Mukerjee and Vineeta Singh

It's difficult to build a name for yourself in India's congested cosmetics sector, which is controlled by industry’s leading players like L'Oréal, Unilever, and Estée Lauder group of companies. If that wasn't enough, there are also local players to contend with, such as Colorbar. Nonetheless, over the course of six years, this husband-and-wife team has carved a position in a very competitive field with Sugar. Since the company's launch in 2015, the duo has focused on developing products that are more suited to Indian skin tones, more pigmented, hypoallergenic, and long-lasting.

Sugar now has an omni-channel distribution network with 10,000 retail locations in 130 cities. It is said that Sugar is among the top four cosmetics brands in terms of sales contribution at large-format retailers such as Lifestyle, Shoppers Stop, and Health & Glow. It raised $21 million earlier this year in a Series C fundraising transaction headed by Elevation Capital. Sugar has raised $35.5 million in investment to date. Singh, a graduate of IIT Madras and IIM Ahmedabad, co-manages the show with her husband, a graduate of BITS Pilani and IIM Ahmedabad. And they appear to be doing a very decent job together.

3. Nimisha Bansal and Peyush Bansal

Peyush Bansal, the CEO, and co-founder of Lenskart, is married to Nimisha Bansal, who is also the chairperson of Lenskart Foundation. She formerly worked in the media and was running a content marketing business.

4. Vikas Thapar and Namita Thapar

Namita Thapar is married to Vikas Thapar, who leads their Pune-based pharmaceutical firm Emcure Pharmaceuticals as president of corporate development, strategy, and finance. Namita Thapar, the judge on Shark Tank India, and her husband, Vikas Thapar, desire to keep their private life private. This is one of the primary reasons for the scarcity of information about the couple on the internet. While Vikas is not on social media, Namita often shares images of the couple while holidaying. The couple has two kids, Jai and Vir.

5. Priya Dagar and Aman Gupta

Aman Gupta, the co-founder of boAt, is married to Priya Dagar, senior policy advisor at the Netherlands Embassy and Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Priya and Aman married in 2008. They have two beautiful kids, Mia and Adaa.

Prior to working at the Dutch embassy, she worked at the European Business and Technology Centre as a sector specialist.

6. Varun Alagh and Ghazal Alagh

Ghazal Alagh is the co-founder of the health and wellness firm Mamaearth along with her husband Varun Alagh. They married in 2011, and two children: a son named Agastya, and a newborn Ayaan.

7. Anchal Kumar and Anupam Mittal

Anupam Mittal has become a household name since he began starring on the show. While the businessman's shaadi.com has facilitated the marriage of several couples, Anupam found his mate in the real world. In 2013, Anupam married Anchal Kumar in a lavish ceremony. Anchal, a model and performer, is most known for her 2010 appearance on Bigg Boss 4.
