Midway through 2025, the K-drama business remains thriving. When Life Gives You Tangerines is just one of several hit programmes that debuted in the first part of the year and has since dominated streaming platform ratings. As 2025 draws to a close, new Korean dramas are showing no signs of slowing down, promising a plethora of new series and much-anticipated sequels. These new Korean dramas to watch are a must-add to your weekend binge list!  All sorts of new Korean dramas, from romantic comedies to suspenseful thrillers, are on our list of must-watch dramas for this year.

You and Everything Else

In this slice-of-life melodrama, Kim Gun Mu, Park Ji Hyun, and Kim Go Eun provide their voices! The drama recounts the rekindling of a long-lost friendship in its September 12 Netflix streaming debut. Their love-hate relationship, complicated lifestyles, and varied ages are all explored in the slice-of-life drama. Over the course of adolescence and adulthood, two once-close friends now live quite different lives; one of them is requested to spend her last days with the other. For people yearning for a romantic new Korean drama- this upcoming K-drama is one to watch! 

Queen Mantis 

Starring Go Hyun-jung, Jang Dong-yoon, Jung Hae-shin, and Jo Sa, this mystery thriller is a translation of the French series The Mantis. Starting on September 5, you may watch it on Netflix. A female serial murderer, who received a 20-year jail term, is the protagonist of the story. However, her estranged son, a police officer, begs her to assist with the investigation when a new serial murderer appears in town, using a similar technique to her own. The emotional and mental strain between them and the case as a whole is the driving force behind the plot. Add this to your list of new K-dramas to watch! 

Confidence Queen

Actress Park Min-young, who played the lead role of Yoon Yi-rang in Marry My Husband, stars in the upcoming drama Confidence Queen. Along with her con artist accomplice James (Park Hee-soon, Dr. Brain), she oversees the criminal enterprise known as Myung Gu-ho (Joo Jong-hyuk, Extraordinary Attorney Woo). All three of them join forces to bring justice to the villains, bringing unique stories and skills to the table. You won't want to miss this when it premieres on Amazon Prime on September 6!

Tempest 

One of the most talked-about new Korean dramas, this espionage romance stars Gianna Jun and Gang Dongwon—two of the most marketable actors in South Korea. Seo Munju, a former diplomat, is the protagonist of this crime thriller, which revolves around a presidential contender whose assassination attempt she is determined to solve. Paik Sanho, an enigmatic mercenary, is protecting her, and the more they investigate, the more they find out about a global conspiracy that reaches to the White House.

Beyond The Bar 

So far, Beyond the Bar reviews have been fantastic! With the debut of the eighth episode, this latest Korean drama skyrocketed to an 8.681% rating, up from an initial national rating of 3.703%! Lee Jin Wook, well known for his role as participant 246 in the second and third seasons of Squid Game, appears in the series. Actress Jung Chae Yeon, who starred alongside him in The King's Affection, is very brilliant. With any luck, the show's viewership will keep rising over the coming weeks.

At Yullim Law Firm, Yun Seok Un is revered as the head of the litigation team and a partner lawyer known for his calm demeanour and willingness to take risks. Despite his legal acumen, he is unlikable to his coworkers due to his icy demeanour and awkward small-chat skills. Yun Seok Un and rookie lawyer Kang Hyo Min have an immediate confrontation because Kang Hyo Min is both self-assured and socially uncomfortable, but she is also very righteous.

My Youth

My Youth is a love drama starring Song Joong-ki, who portrays Sun Woo-hae, a former child actor who now writes and flowers after overcoming a rough upbringing. Re-entering his life after a decade apart, Chun Woo-hee portrays his first love, Sung Je-yeon. Fan of slow-burn dramas? This is one of the best new K-dramas to watch for you!

The Murky Stream

This historical serial explores corruption and insurrection in 16th-century Joseon. The protagonist, a former aristocrat named Siyul, is now a gang enforcer and fugitive. The antagonist, Jung Chun, a boyhood friend of Siyul's, is a police officer. In an odd alliance, they join forces with Choi Eun, a businessman with a keen mind, to combat the powerful forces that prey on the vulnerable. This new Korean drama is a must-watch for fans of historical and fantasy-themed dramas.

Ms. Incognito

Kim Young-ran, played by Jeon Yeo-been of Our Movie fame, is a corporate bodyguard from a humble household. When the ailing chairman of the Gasung Group asks her to participate in a contract marriage, she has a chance to alter her life's course. In September, you'll be able to watch this highly recommended drama online on Viki.

Shin's Project

Actor Han Suk-kyu (Doubt) portrays the titular character, Mr. Shin, a gregarious ex-top negotiator who now owns a chicken joint in the neighbourhood. As a mediator, he calmly and efficiently resolves conflicts on his street and speaks out against injustice when he sees it.
