After the consecration ceremony of the Ram Lalla idol,  Prime Minister Modi revealed a majestic 30-foot-tall bronze statue of Jatayu at Kuber Tila in Ayodhya. As per the narrative of the Hindu epic Ramayana, Jatayu is a legendary bird who bravely attempted to save Mata Sita from Ravan. The 30-foot tall bronze statue is sculpted by Ram Vanji Sutar —  an esteemed artist honoured with the Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan awards.

At the venerable age of 98, this distinguished and surreal artist is also set to craft an imposing 600-ft tall statue of Lord Ram, further contributing to his illustrious legacy. The statue will be installed on the banks of the Saryu — river which flows through the city of Ayodhya.

Not just this Ram Vanji Sutar has sculpted many statues such as the Statue of Unity,  Lord Shiva Statue and Nadaprabhu Kempegowda in Banglore. Currently, his Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Statue is also in progress; this one will have a statue height of 400 ft.
