Starting with Bachchhan Pandey, Radhe Shyam, and Jhund which are currently in theatres.
1. RRR
With the release of Baahubali, director SS Rajamouli has made a special place in the heart of Indian audiences. So, naturally his next film is bound top the list of the most anticipated Indian movie releases. RRR, starring Ram Charan and Jr NTR in the lead, also has Bollywood actors like Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn in the cast. Touted to be an action-drama, the film was slated to release in January 2022, but due to the surge in COVID-19 cases, the film is now postponed to March 2022.
2. Bachchhan Pandey
The next movie to make it to the list is Akshay Kumar's Bachchhan Pandey. The film's trailer created ripples among moviegoers and now the movie is doing that. Everyone was raving about Kumar's look in the movie. The film also stars Kriti Sanon, Arshad Warsi, among others in pivotal roles. Directed by Farhad Samji of Housefull 4 fame, this film is currently running in the theatres.
3. K.G.F: Chapter 2
Next on the list is the sequel to the multi-lingual action thriller K.G.F. The movie, starring Yash, Sanjay Dutt, Raveena Tandon, Srinidhi Shetty in the lead, is directed by Prashanth Neel. The first part of the franchise was released in 2018 and became an instant hit. Interestingly, the movie brought Sandalwood cinema to the limelight and also managed to make Yash (lead star) a pan-India star.
4. Radhe Shyam
Baahubali star Prabhas' movie Radhe Shyam is next on the list. The romantic drama is set in Europe and was shot during the first wave of COVID-19. The film, directed by K. K. Radhakrishna Kumar, also stars actors like Pooja Hegde, Bhagyashree, and Jagapathi Babu in prominent roles. This movie was initially scheduled to release in February 2022. However, due to a surge in COVID-19 cases, the film was released later on March 11, 2022.
5. Jhund
Jhund is based on the life of Vijay Barse, a retired sports teacher. The movie has Amitabh Bachchan essaying the titular role. Jhund marks the Bollywood debut of acclaimed director Nagraj Manjule. For the unversed, Manjule is the director of Marathi movies like Sairat (2016) and Fandry (2013). The film has an ensemble cast featuring newcomers and is one currently earning good reviews from the audience. It released in theatres on March 4, 2022.
6. Bheeshmaparvam
The Malayalam-language movie is a gangster-drama that stars Mammootty in the lead role. The film also has an ensemble cast of actors like Soubin Shahir, Sreenath Bhasi, and Dileesh Pothan, among others. The Amal Neerad directorial hit the screens on March 3, 2022. Bheeshmaparvam has managed to enthral the audience.
