It’s fast, efficient, and quite well-designed. Right now, most of the Vande Bharat route options are short, and the coaches are chaircars. But with the announcement of 75 new Vande Bharat express route list, we also expect to see the sleeper version of the train make a debut soon. Another great thing about it is Vande Bharat’s scenic routes. From scenic views of the Western Ghats to lush meadows en route Himachal, a Vande Bharat trip has it all.
1. New Delhi - Srinagar Vande Bharat Express
This upcoming Vande Bharat train route will cover 800 km in 13 hours and is expected to be one of the most beautiful Vande Bharat train routes. Set to be inaugurated on 26 January 2025, this is the first direct train between the two destinations and will cross the iconic Chenab Bridge to get to Srinagar. For the uninitiated, Chenab Bridge is the highest railway bridge in the world.
2. New Delhi - Dehradun Vande Bharat Express
This is another Vande Bharat train route which passes through lush jungles in Uttarakhand, offering views like no other. Covering over 302km, Vande Bharat Express takes 4 hours and 45 minutes to get from Delhi to Dehradun. This Vande Bharat train has stops at Roorkee, Haridwar, Meerut City, etc.
3. New Delhi - Amb Andaura Vande Bharat Express
Another Vande Bharat train route that offers stunning views happens to be the New Delhi - Amb Andaura Vande Bharat Express, which starts from the capital and goes to Una in Himachal via Ambala, Chandigarh, and Anandpur Sahib, covering the distance in 5 hours and 15 minutes.
4. Pune - Hubballi Vande Bharat Express
While drives are a great way to get scenic views of Western Ghats, Vande Bharat trains come a close second. This Vande Bharat Express passes through Satara, Belgaum, and Dharwad to reach Hubballi in 8 hours and 30 minutes.
5. Mumbai - Goa Vande Bharat Express
This is another Vande Bharat train route that has exceptionally scenic views of Western Ghats. Passing through Panvel, Khed, Ratnagiri, and Kankavali, to reach Madgaon, this Vande Bharat Express is a must if you like stunning views and train journeys. While the regular time taken to cover this journey is 7 hours 45 minutes, in monsoons, it takes a little longer. Who are we to complain though? Simply means more of lush green scenic views of Western Ghats in the rainy season!
6. Rourkela - Puri Vande Bharat Express
Another of the Vande Bharat express routes that offers a variety of views, this one is 505 km, covered in 7 hours 30 minutes. This also covers places like Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Sambalpur City, and more. If exploring Odisha is on your list, this train route is a perfect way to start.
7. New Jalpaiguri - Guwahati Vande Bharat Express
Great views from Vande Bharat train’s windows aren’t limited to Himachal or Western Ghats. This is one of the most scenic train routes in the Northeast, and covers 410 km in 6 hours. This Vande Bharat route was also the first one in the region, and more are expected soon.
8. Madurai - Bengaluru Cantt. Vande Bharat Express
Covering a distance of 586 km in 7 hours 45 minutes, this Vande Bharat train starts from Madurai, passing through Dindigul junction, Tiruchirappalli Railway Station, Karur Railway Station, Namakkal Railway Station, Salem Junction and Krishnarajapuram Railway Station, to get to Bengaluru Cantt.
9. Ernakulam - Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express
This is a busy Vande Bharat express route, and easy to see why. Passing through Thrissur, Palakkad, Coimbatore, Salem, and Erode stations, this Vande Bharat covers 608 km in close to 9 hours. Started in 2024, this route connects Ernakulum Junction to Bengaluru Cantt.
10. Thiruvananthapuram Central - Kasaragod
Lush green views make this Vande Bharat route unmissable. It also is a great way to explore God’s own country, Kerala because it passes through a variety of cities like Ernakulum, Kottayam, Thrissur, and Kannur, which is each a great place to visit in the state.
