Team ZZ

For designers all over the world, December is a much-awaited month. Each year, Pantone announces the colour of the next Pantone’s Color of the Year in the early to mid December, and in the design and merchandise world, this is a very looked forward to event. Pantone who you ask?
The Pantone Color Institute is a consulting service within Pantone, the company, that forecasts global colour trends. It also advises companies on the use of colour in brand identity and product development, ensuring an optimum application and integration of colour as a strategic asset in design. Every year since 2000, it has been picking a Pantone’s Color of the Year, which not only makes its way into the fashion spaces but also other manufacturing sectors.

Pantone 2025 color

This year, on 5th of December 2024, Pantone announced its fashion color of the year for 2025, Mocha Mousse. The shade is muted, warm-toned, and very very flattering in so many ways. It looks chic, and whether you are a fan of the chocolate hues, love coffee-stained aesthetics, or just somebody who loves looking for earthy tones, Pantone 2025 color is just for you.
The shade is officially called PANTONE 17-1230 Mocha Mousse, and the institute describes it as ‘a warming, brown hue imbued with richness’. It is supposed to induce a feeling of comfort, cosiness, and warmth, akin to the namesake, a mocha mousse.

Pantone color collaborations

Within days of the institute announcing Pantone’s Color of the Year 2025, a variety of brands have collaborated and launched their next goods in the shade Mocha Mousse. This includes the mobile giant Motorola that launched Mocha Mousse variants in two of its models, namely Razr50 Ultra and Edge50 Neo. The London Eye also lit up in the Pantone 2025 color to announce the arrival of the warm tones shade, and in terms of interior design, Joybird announced a Mocha Mousse-inspired range you can shop from. Another iconic brand to hop on the Pantone color collaborations train was Post It. It is currently not available for sale, but one can always dream, right?

For majority of these brands, the collaboration with Pantone color is not new, Motorola for example, offered multiple models in the Peach Fuzz color, which was Pantone’s pick for 2024. Peach Fuzz was seen making a statement in fashion circles too. Easily the fashion color of the year for 2024, Peach Fuzz was seen in different textures and more on celebrities like Jahnvi Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, and Taylor Swift.

We do however understand if you didn’t enjoy it. Peach Fuzz, for all its velvety gentle peach tone, was not a universally flattering colour. Pantone’s Color of the Year 2025 Mocha Mousse however is a shade that will answer your fashion woes about being on trend.

Here’s how to include the Pantone color for 2025 in your life

1. Mules but muted

Let’s start easy. These mules, pretty in the Pantone Color of the Year are a perfect pick for a variety of occasions. Planning to dress up a formal outfit, or keeping it classy with an ethnic kaftan for a soiree, these work for both! And if casual is more your thing, a classic white shirt, a dark blue pair of denims, and these mules is all you need. Thank us later!

2. Monochromatic Mocha makeup

If you’re a makeup girlie, you know exactly what we are talking about! Doing your makeup like Monica Bellucci in her older films is one of the most flattering looks on brown eyes. And in the current fashion scene, nobody does it better than Emily Ratajkowski. Take a leaf out of her beauty book for a chic and yet understated look. With more and more Pantone color collaborations our way in 2025, this will be quite easy to try!

3. Mocha balayage

New year, new you? If switching up your hair colour has been on the list, but you don’t want it to be too loud, this year’s Pantone color is perfect. Mocha Mousse is soft, demure, and yet tres chic! While balayage is quite an obvious technique for this shade, you can also explore others like ombre, colour melt, and the good old highlights.

4. Mocha Mousse for men

If you think fashion trends are only for women-centric brands, this Nappa Dori wallet will prove you wrong. The handcrafted exquisite leather wallet is called Gatsby, and given how chic and refined it looks, we are not surprised. The two-toned wallet not only makes for a perfect Christmas or anniversary present as well.
