Whole wheat Kesar pista cookies By Neha Mehta

No maida Its Whole wheat flour cookies

Serves4 Servings

INGREDIENTS

  • 3/4 cup Whole wheat flour
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 2-3tbsp warm milk
  • 3 tbsp finely chopped pistachios
  • 1/4tsp cardamom powder
  • 1/4tsp baking powder
  • Few strands of saffron(kesar)

PREPARATION

    Soak saffron in warm milk. let it sit aside for 5minutes.

    Meanwhile sift wheat flour, cardamom powder and baking powder together and keep aside.
  3. 3

    Beat butter and powdered sugar till light and fluffy. Add saffron milk and 2tbsp chopped pistachios mix well.
  4. 4

    Now add sifted flour and with a soft hand blend everything together to form a dough.

    Refrigerate the dough for 15minutes.

    Make small equal lemon size balls from the dough and place them in a 1" distance on a lined baking tray.

    Sprinkle few pistachios on each balls and flatten them out lightly. Bake at 180 degree centigrade preheated oven for 15minutes.

    Let the cookies sit on the baking tray for 10minutes..

    Now remove cookies from the baking tray and place them on cooling rack to cool completely before storing in an airtight container.
