INGREDIENTS

  • For garam masala

    • 12-15 cloves

    • 12-15 green cardamom

    • 2 cinnamon sticks

    • 1 tbsp black peppercorns

  • For Qaliya Khasa Do Pyaaza

    • 4 tbsp coriander seeds

    • 1 inch ginger

    • 1 cup ghee

    • 250-300 gm onions

    • 1 kg mutton

    • salt to taste

    • 1 cup diced carrots

    • 1 cup diced beetroot

    • 1 cup diced turnips

    • water as required

    • 1/2 cup soaked moong beans

    • 1/2 cup rice paste

PREPARATION

    In a pan, roast cloves, green cardamoms, cinnamon sticks and black peppercorns. Grind them to a fine powder.

    Roast coriander seeds in the same pan.

    Crush ginger in a mortar and pestle.

    Heat ghee in a pan and add chopped onions to it and cook the onions for 3-4 minutes.

    Add mutton, ginger paste, salt and roasted coriander seeds to it and mix well.

    Now add diced carrots, beetroot, turnips, and water, mix well, cover with a lid and let it cook for 40 min.

    Next, add soaked moong beans, ground garam masala and rice paste to it, mix well and cook for 3-4 minutes.

    Serve Qaliya Khasa Do Pyaaza with naan.
