Ingredients

  • For Moong Dal Papad

    • 1 cup moong dal flour

    • 1 tsp cumin seeds

    • salt to taste

    • pinch of red chilli powder

    • 1 tsp asafoetida

    • 1 tsp crushed black pepper

    • pinch of turmeric powder

    • 1 tsp papad khar

    • 1 tsp garlic paste

    • ghee

  • For Moongodi

    • 1 cup soaked moong dal

    • 1 dry red chilli

    • 1 tsp asafoetida

    • salt to taste

PREPARATION

    Sieve the moong dal flour.

    Add cumin seeds, salt, a pinch of red chilli powder, asafoetida, black pepper powder and turmeric powder and mix well.

    Now, take papad khar in a bowl and water and garlic paste to it and mix well.
  4. 4

    Add this mixture to moong dal flour and knead a dough.
  5. 5

    Keep the dough covered with a muslin cloth for half an hour.
  6. 6

    Next, smear some ghee on the dough and knead again.
  7. 7

    Make small balls of the dough. Place one ball in the papad making machine and make a papad. Repeat the procedure for all the dough balls.

    Keep papads to dry out in the sun for 4-5 days.

    For moongodi – grind the soaked moong dal, dry red chilli, salt, and asafoetida powder in mixer and make a thick paste.

    Put this mixture in a piping bag.

    Take a muslin cloth and make small moongodi by using the piping bag.

    Let the moongodi dry in the sun for 4-5 days.
