INGREDIENTS

  • For Makhuti

    • 2 cups soaked moong dal

    • 1/2 cup small grain rice

    • water as required

    • 3-4 cups milk

    • 1 cup sugar

    • 1 tsp cardamom powder

    • 1 cup khoya

    • 1 tbsp ghee

    • 1 tbsp raisins

    • 1 tbsp chopped cashew nuts

    • 1 tbsp almond flakes

    • 1 tbsp chopped pistachios

    • 1/2 tsp saffron

  • For garnish

    • chopped pistachios

PREPARATION

    In a pressure cooker, cook the soaked moong dal and small grain rice for 3-4 whistles. Let it cool down.

    In a pan, add milk and pressure-cooked moong dal and rice to it and cook till it thickens.

    Next, add sugar, cardamom powder, and khoya to it and mix well.

    Heat ghee in another pan and fry raisins, chopped cashews, almond flakes, and chopped pistachios.

    Add these fried nuts to the moong dal mixture, add saffron and mix well.

    Take out the Makhuti in a serving bowl, garnish with chopped pistachios and serve.
