INGREDIENTS

  • For the dough

    • 1 cup all-purpose flour

    • 1 tsp carom seeds

    • salt to taste

    • 1 tbsp ghee

    • 1 cup water

  • For stuffing

    • 1 tbsp ghee

    • 1 tsp chopped ginger

    • 2 chopped green chillies

    • 1/2 cup moth beans

    • salt to taste

    • water as required

    • 1 tbsp dry mango powder

    • 1 tbsp coriander powder

    • 1 tbsp garam masala

    • 1 tbsp chaat masala

    • oil for frying

PREPARATION

    In a parat, mix together all-purpose flour, carom seeds, salt, ghee and water and knead a dough. Cover the dough with a wet muslin cloth.

    For the stuffing, heat ghee in a pan and add chopped ginger, chopped green chillies, soaked moth beans, salt and water and cook till the dal softens.

    Next, add dry mango powder, coriander powder, garam masala and chaat masala to the dal moth, mix well and cook it till the mixture dries. Remove the mixture in a bowl.

    Divide the dough into equal portions and make round balls.

    Roll the balls into oval shape and cut into half.

    Take on part, make a cone, apply water on the edges, add stuffing and fold like a samosa.

    Make all samosas in the same way and fry them till crisp.

    Serve Dal Moth Samosas with tamarind chutney.
