1 cup urad dal (white lentils without skin)
1/4 cup moong dal
1 tsp shahi jeera
water for soaking
1/2 cup curd
2 tbsp salt
½ tbsp black salt
¼ tsp asafoetida
For spice mix
1 tbsp coriander powder
1 tbsp roasted cumin powder
1 tsp black salt
1 tbsp dry mango powder
1 tsp red chilli powder
